I presume from the timing of the post on this - 12.58 - that Nick said so himself when he signed off at the end of the Lunchtime News

That trailer featured all ITV1 news presenters.

Just caught the tail-end of a trail with Nicholas Owen for the News Channel's Budget coverage

Anyone know who was on between 1 and 3?

It's Steve and Mary this hour.

Sasha Herriman and Steve Scott at 1 and then Sasha and Chris at 2. Sian Lloyd also came in for a chat about the weather and was very entertaining commenting on Sasha's spring like outfit and mentioning Wales a lot

Given that this ex-Guantanamo Bay detainee was exclusively on the Tonight programme this evening, would it have been an idea for the NC to host one of their pre-relaunch discussion programmes directly after afterwards at 8.30?

It's strange that they seem - judging by last week and this week - to have cut down the dual presentation at weekends to just two hours in the afternoon. (Angela's show isn't really dual anchored - you hardly see the second presenter).

I suppose the purpose of the two dual anchored hours is to give them a batch of videowall presentations to be replayed during the afternoon and evening, otherwise weekend lunchtime seems a strange time to do this.

I hope they expand the hours in due course, as it makes the channel so much more watchable.

Sky News manages to use only four presenters between 10am and midnight at weekends with a mix of single and double headed bulletins spread throughout the day, and it seems to work OK for them and proves that it need not cost too much.

Did they go back to Mark on the News Channel at all?

If not, I guess he was using the same satellite link as Jon Snow for Channel 4 News.

Well if they have Owen Thomas, Heather McCarthy, Sasha Herriman, Angela Rippon, Lauren Taylor, Nick Clark, John Nicholson, Jonathan Wills, Carrie Frais and Lloyd Bracey to get through at weekends then they should be able to get double anchoring all day!

BTW has anyone else seen the new ITV News promotion?

Yes, I did just before 7 on the ITVNC... actually very touching.. very simple but the background music makes it...

I saw it earlier tonight and I have to say it is probably the best ITV News promo I have seen so far, the good thing about it is that it is so simple, it is just plain text which clips of major events like 9/11. With things on screen like 'We've been there'

It's nice to see an ITV News promo which isn't full of celebs and presenters, it's very good.

Also by looking at those schedules I'd say that London Today would be presented by Nick Clark on Saturday and Lloyd Bracey on Sunday

Has anyone got a capture of the breakfiller as yet, which really is ITV's equivilent of News 24's countdown!

I got in at about 9.30 and Leyla did Sports Extra, and Sasha is doing the 10 o'clock.

Has Joyce been on this evening? Does this mean Sasha or Leyla are doing London Tonight?
