Madrid explosions were being covered at 8.10, when I got up, by Sky News, CNN, and itv NC. Was BBC News 24 covering it? No! Crap! Evil or Very Mad

Breakfast HAS to go!

No wonder they dropped the 'News' from 'Breakfast News'!

As I said in the other thread Breakfast had done it before 8 - with a live with the Madrid correspondent, they also did it after the bulletin at 0800. But no they did go into rolling mode ... but then the other night Sky didn't stay rolling with the plane arriving back at Northolt they went to Littlejohn - you could argue Breakfast is a programme just like Littlejohn and they had covered the bomb with as much info and pics that they had at the time and then moved on to other news.

Sorry Nicky, we seem to be posting in two threads! Shall we stick to this one!

News 24 should have joined World - in rolling mode - at 8am.

9am: News 24 & World are simulcasting. I wondered why to begin with - but this makes sense given what I'm now seeing.

I wasn't watching earlier, but if News 24 was in fluffy mode instead of rolling (either by itself or with World), then this is a very poor show.

If News 24's answer ti the 8am problem is to simulcast World, then fair enough - as long as they do, without fail.

News 24 is still with World at 9am, where's the main News 24 programme?

Well there's no point producing two rolling news services dominated by the same story both competing for the same correspondents and experts.

I thought News 24 didn't start until 10am now that Kilroy was gone? Thought it was Breakfast until 9.30 then World News until 10am?

So did they start early if they opted back at 9.15?

No News 24 usually opts out of Breakfast at 9.00

News 24 usually starts at 9 and the final 30 mins of Breakfast are exclusive to BBC One.

Right, thanks. Wish all of Breakfast was exclusive to the studio it came from! Laughing

Is World still in rolling mode or is this half-hour from the World newsroom just for News 24 as usual?

From the way way News24 crossed over at 09:30 I would say it was live to BBC World. It started with a BBC News graphic.

Just checked and it is World/News 24 simulcast

Si!
