Ah yes thats what he's off! I try and not watch too much of the BBC because its supposed to be 'advert-free' but im sure they still have breaks which can last many minutes between programmes full of crap like that and also promotions for 2W - digital tv for wales! I find it even more irritating seeing HUGE billboards full of adverts for BBC programmes! Why should I pay a license fee for them to pay an advertising company to advertise programmes that I/we have already paid for?!?? The logic of that one really passes me bi. ooops - maybe the advertising is working!

I cant see Helen working with the BBC if she has a higher profile job now?

Never mind him/her , watch out for Hypno the rapist - he's even got the cheek to advertise his so called services !
Oh , by the way , what did Jez make of the Hugh Pugh references to his beloved relative on St. Dewi's day ? Or didn't he watch it ?

I see why Lucy Cohen was not on tonight's ITV Wales News at 6!!--- She could have been in it!!!

Who could ever live with Janet Street Potter???-- I suppose you want an eccentric to make a good program.

The point of those Billboards is to point viewers towards and make them aware of programmes they wouldn't know about otherwise.

Would it not be even more of a waste of the licence fee if fewer people watched a programme because they weren't aware of it. You'll find that a significant amount of said advertising campaigns are for public service programmes, eg recently the Alan Clarke diaries on BBC Four (soon to be sown on BBC Two). Where else on British TV would you find such political and informative drama?

I hope the BBC dont think that people are that fickle and that incapable of looking on Ceefax, in the newspaper or a tv listings magazine to decide whether they want to watch a programme?

Of course a huge poster with a few faces on and the name of the programme is *bound* to attract a viewer whom couldnt make their mind up from any other source!

Do the BBC really want to attract this type of viewer who is surely ITV or even five-fodder?

Well, obviously , bugger all has happened of any note on itv wails since I last looked in. What can we say about the great vision for itv except that it stinks- the main man from Granada says that there are no more job cuts forthcoming in the regions - even Maggie would have had a job squeezing the remaining skeleton workforce any further - so full marks CHAS for a blindingly obvious statement of the same. On a less serious note -as Hugh Pugh might say ( sorry tvd)- that Lucy Cohen is a bit of a fast woman , but she got away with it this time. And Jez - what does your relative think of her references on Hugh Pugh - or doesn't she talk to you ? ( can't say I blame her ).
Isn't it about time we got out the bell , book and candle for Jez on this thread anyway ?

Well ever since Jez returned everyone else has buggered off!
