Now while I know it's easy to just sit there and wet yourself because young Jez has returned, let's not forget the rules.

While everyone on the Welsh news will have a daffodil, bonus points may be scored for a national presenter in possession of said item [leek is half points though, tut]. So it's a big <ponder> for people like Martyn Davies, Huw Edwards etc and so on.

And apparently I'm being told some people working in the northwest have the day off -- well that's nice for them, isn't it.

Refresh my memory, is it QUARTER points for a PLASTIC leek?

Rhodri Morgan had one on on the national bit of Politics Show yesterday.

Hi guys,

If you've tuned into Xchange today you'll see that our presenter, Rhodri Owen is wearing a daffodil...

Ta for the pick owan, its all thanks to the person in that pic that im here. I had a vision which told me if Sally did GMTV on a Monday I would return, and lo and behold there she was and I took it as a sign that I just *had* to make a guest appearance on this special occassion Laughing

However she disappeared like a puff of smoke by lunchtime to be replaced by Lucy.

Noticed weatherman James had his daff on too at lunchtime! Very Happy

If my relation Sian does the weather on ITV1 she is bound to have a leek/daff (last year it was a leek I think) She wont let the family down Laughing

He gets everywhere as well -- almost as bad as that Sarra Elgan. He's marrying Lucy Cohen[-Owen] later this summer, but to the best of my knowledge Sarra Elgan *isn't* doing this, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Either way, you win a welshcake.

LOL -- young Jez had a vision. I'm telling you this thread is like a religious experience [but with less incest].

Every single person on the news so far has a daffodil -- but if that Sian Lloyd has a leek, I'm afraid it'll be automatic disqualification for you, young Jez -- as the shame brought on your family means you'll have to resign again.

Yes, Sarra is also one of our presenters too. On days where they end up together it's like "The Welsh Show".

Oh, and my Nana makes the BEST welshcakes around, so don't mess Wink

Vile. Has it got flies in it too?

Wales Today's daffodil-fest ended very patriotically this evening, with comments from people about what being Welsh means to them, and St David's day etc [this is after we've spoken to the mad nationalists in stupid costumes marching through Machynlleth or wherever]. Commentators included Derek, who was enjoying himself amongst the flowers as only he can.

He likes Wales because of the inclement weather [?] Mind you, perhaps a St Derek's day is on the cards.

Everything on S4C seems to be joining in with the spirit of things -- their ident is a bit strange, a man sleeping in his garden shed, with shots of daffodils and flags, all silent -- ending with a special red menu thingyo.

BTW -- Did anyone else just see that advert on HTV with some mentalist telling you how to bring up bilingual children? Scary stuff.

Speaking of appearances , I trust you're wearing your full-blown trad. Welsh costume , with big black hat ,nice shawl ,flannel skirt and patent leather black shoes. I'll be most disappointed if you're not.
Personally speaking I'm wearing my riding leathers with spurs over a pair of gold-lame (pronounced lamay-will have to find out the french letter for e) knickers which I bought for a "snip" Razz at notnormal's "having it all taken away" lingerie sale. I must say that they tend to ride up a bit but we must put up with these things for the duration of the festivities. I'm sat here with a pile of Welshcakes and a bottle of Abbot Ale ( I looked for Brain's St. Davids Ale but Tesco didn't have it - so I settled for another ecclesiastical brew). What's everyone else enjoying ? ( Keep it clean ).

Whatastdavidsday!

There was some shaking and moving on ITV1! Andrew Jones DIDNT appear (i suppose he was replaced with Sally Johnson because at least she is Welsh) then Sally was trumped by Lucy Cohen. <insert dirty joke here> Jonathon Hill joined her for the main six oclock St David's Day celebration where even James Wright joined in the festivities!

Both BBC and ITV news programmes were good yesterday but i feel the national news programmes could have given St David's Day a mention Sad

I feel quite let down that it was barely mentioned on This Morning but Des and Mel did apologise that they had forgotten to bring their leeks and daffodils in - Des then made some crass joke about having a leek - oh did the grannies in the audience laugh.

Programme-wise it was only ITV and S4C that deemed it necessary to show any relative programming.

ITV's got underway with a Ferret at 22:00 followed by 'that guy off Coast to Coast' looking back at the history of Machenllyth (spelling is bad i know)
It wasnt as bad as I had expected! If they had called it Coast to Coast - A St David's Day look at Machenllyth it might have been more appealing to the viewers but what a dreadful title for the programme! Quite a nice relaxed programme then followed by some madness with Hugh Pugh's side-ways look at St David's Day!

Barry Welsh/Hugh Pugh - I either love it or hate it as the jokes are too repetitive and not funny.
BUT this little look at Welsh history was very well made and I did enjoy the anti-English jokes!

Weighing it up what is better 24 hour quiz or St David's Day programming on ITV 1 Wales?

Is it time for TV Dragon to give Jez another penguin for good behaviour?

You know, owan, you're right -- young Jez has been well-behaved.

But I'm afraid after you refuse a penguin once, you don't get the opportunity again. Penguins are precious.

So I've had a rummage in the dragon biscuit tin and I've managed to find young Jez a Blue Ribband [don't look at the sell by date].

Mind you -- everyone now looks so bare without their daffodils, tut.

Ah yes - you cant beat an out of date Blue Ribbond bar! *yummy*

Well I thought the return of Jez would've caused a real stir on the thread, but as I told him, it wouldnt be no-where near as bad as expected! Lets hope Jez is back for good where he can recieve a weekly chocolate biscuit bar for good behaviour every Sunday after the regional programmes have finished on ITV1Wales?

PS Where is Andrew Jones ? I hope he hasnt gone to the bad place along with Tom Barton, Matthew Roberts, Rhys Roberts, Stuart Mcteer...........
