ITV News - Mocks based on Today's News Stories

Given that ITV News will be relaunched later in the year, I decided to create a new look, and implement it on the news that is happening today.

I have kept the spinning globe, but have axed the classic music, replacing it with the old ITN News Channel theme.

The ITV News Channel is now simply called 'ITV News', into which the ITV1 network opts for main news programmes on the half hour. These programmes come from the studio at ITN previously used for the ITN News Channel, and ITV news pre-1999.

All other ITV1 bulletins come from a virtual studio, looking identical to the actual studio.

To maintain timings, a countdown bridges the gap between adverts and the bulletins, which always began exactly on the hour, and at half past.

All the news programmes have the title 'ITV News at ????', so the main bulletins are called the 'ITV News at 12.30', 'ITV News at 6.30', and 'ITV News at Ten'.

When the channel goes live to a reporter or guest, it looks like this, with the aston visable at the bottom.

And when the news anchor interviews a person, this split screen is used, however, here, the guest has failed to materialise in Washington.

The ITV News Network is a roundup of stories from all around the local ITV newsrooms.

I like them too but as everyone else has said good things to I dont want you to get to big headed. I just feel that the newsroom looks a bit temporary, I feel its the kind of background that would be used when the studio is getting rebuilt......sorry

No need to be sorry Richard. I think the studio looks a little CSO and temporary too. I'll update the files tomorrow witha few tweaks, like other elements from tonights 'News at Ten', a new studio, and extra elements like Re-it-er-ate suggested.

Right. I have updated the video with a headline sequence, DOG, new 3D studio, new presenter, and new astons. I will add further images and videos, and updates, soon.

Great Mocks, apart from the Studio. Having the News Studio in the background looks really bad.

Also, I think you should add a : to news at 630.

Mocks are nice, not too fussy, BUT - the ITV1 news would face a slight problem if ITV1 was running late after, say, Champions' League football.

PS "News at 12:30" was the Lunchtime News' former name, so it did catch on somewhere along the line....but that WAS 1992......

I have to say, that video mock is superb! I wasn't going to watch it, as the pics of it aren't brilliant, but it really works on the vid. Well done!

The video is good visually, but I think there's too much happenign in the theme, if you get what I mean.

I like the feel of these mocks, the blue is a nice refreshing change from the usual red, which i'm not that keen on any more. Nice change!

A good starting point for a new look. With a bit of work these could work really well.
