Haven't got much of an opinion on the new titles. I don't think they're quite as nice to look at as the old ones, but then again they're still pretty good and it makes sense to finally get rid of the cream.

Very nice 'Headlines' strap - I wonder how long Gill sans will survive on the national bulletins?

The Headlines strap was a beauty! I hope BBC News's graphics are updated soon, and use that curvey pattern...

It just shows how nice textured, designed straps and astons look...

Honestly?? Um... well.... yes....

What else is there to say? Its not amazing but I guess its new

It has those bits that really annoy me about the News 24 titles (like the BBC News suddenly vanishing half way through circling the globe..... oh, and the way the globe suddenly appears at the start of the whole thing)

Don't get me wrong.... I'm not anti them but for something that isn't being rendered live at the top of the bulletin its not exactly stunning!

Well, i am not sure bout the new titles, there very clean but i think they are too red!!
They need some orange in them, and prehaps make the 6, 10, 1 logo orange. I like the music thou, i think it still has the impact to me that it had way back in 1999.

I agree, there does need to be a proper ending to the news rather than just the logo and URL at the end!

I do think that when the opening titlesare done, there should be a headline spinning round the globe rather than just BBC News. Also I do think the BBC News logo which appears at the end of the titles is a bit too big and I think it should be the size of how it appears on News 24 at the end of the titles.

Dosen't look very interesting, but need to see it in action really!

The music in my opinion isn't as good as previously. Its a classic example of a good theme being modernised by adding lots of extra sounds over the top and merging two bits of music together to create a complicated theme that isn't particularly strong and isn't as good as the original

There doesn't seem to be a particular tune its more the News 24 theme that suddenly changes into the BBC1 theme in a random way

you can't hum along to the new theme as easily. You could do that much better with the real theme tunes from the 99 set.

There is more sound but not more music if you know what I mean. Compare

2004 :: boom, dop dop dop dop dop dop dop DUM DUM DUMdop.

99 :: dum beep, badumdum, beep, badumdum, beep, badumdum, beep, badumdum, beep, badumdum, beep, BADUMDUM beep.

Also the graphics had that horrible bit where the BBC News "ring" just vanishes, there isn't a fade or anything. Cheap and nasty looking.

I agree, they are too red, especially the globe. Why don't they copy News 24's globe and use orange instead of red. And also make the BBC News logo smaller, its too big! The music IMO, is great and gives me a good impact.

Don't forget that the Nations run directly off the back of the National news - there is no junction. The current closing sequence is a good compromise which doesn't make this feel too disjointed.

That also happens on the pre-rendered BBC World News titles as well.
