Six hours on and it's still not fixed ? What is happening ? Shocked

Probably down to the computers, if it's power then they will all have reset, some may have been damaged or be doing strange things after the power spike.

I know of an occasion where the power went off at a TV station (no names) and when it came back up again a very important computer booted up with a password prompt. No-one knew that this computer needed a password let alone what it was and the only person who did know was skiing in the south of France

Hi Folks,

It has been an interesting time for the various BBC channels affected! It was certainly strange seeing the BBC Four slide on BBC One!!

Would any kind Forum Member be able to upload or send me some videoclips of long countdowns and the various problems?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Just like to apollogise for my inaccuracies in this mornings posts, and thank Larry for taking time to correct them. But then, it was 4:00-6:00 in the morning, and I had been up since 11am Wink

So can anyone clarify what did happen to Five Live? Not heard any reference to problems on the breakfast programme (since about 7am) and other shows today, however can't remember a single occasion when News 24 going off-air hasn't messed up Five Live as well - what with them being next-door neighbours in the News Centre.

Tower is back on BBC World but it's a static one. Is it still a joint bulletin?

Yes. No tower on News 24 still. World is opting out for something while News 24 does domestic items.

Can anyone confirm the suggestion earlier than BBC One analogue went regional at one point?

Sorry if this has been explained before, but if News 24 is coming from the World studio, where is World broadcasting from? Or is it a joint news service..

Joint service, with long pauses to allow them to opt out cleanly. In the past when a joint service has been planned they have used the nationals studio but that may well have been affected by the power problems

What is Philip Hayton doing on BBC World?! I've never seen him there before. And jsut before the ending of the World News (at 1500 GMT), he says: "You're watching BBC News". It just doesn't goes like it has to.

the "You're watching BBC News" thing is what I mentioned in my last post - he says that, World pres opt out to something else and he continues on News 24

Well er... I'm sorry Steve. I tried and succeeded mostly to read all posts in this thread but I guess somehow went wrong while reading your last one. Wink

As far as I know, mr. Hayton isn't a regular presenter of BBC World News but he has a very clear and British voice. I like that. If it were up to me he me come back more often on World
