Is anyone else getting fed up with the extremely limited range of ITV1 and ITV2 trailers they are playing all the time on the NC?

Here in Central land, the setup is slightly different:
1) Pres in Birmingham recieves a totally clean feed of the itv news from ITN.
2) The Clean feed is directly fed from Birmingham to the sub-regions.
3) Presentation control is handed to the sub-regions by pres, with the east, west and south in control from the beginning of Central News (18:00h) until the beginning of the national weather 18:59.
For example, in the east, the team in Nottingham take the feed from ITN and choose when to cut to them. So, in the Central regions, the galleries of the respective sub-regions ARE the pres department for the news hour!

We're cut to air automatically by LNN, along with everyone else. We hear the ITN talkback so we know when its coming. You just have to be ready... otherwise tough luck! We don't control any of our opts ourselves.

Did you see the end of the 8-9pm hour, where Joyce did that, "Here are some images of the day from the ITV News Channel", they played clips from the news of the day, and the music sounded like a different version.

There are 15 different cuts of the current music package, so it is most probably one of these that was used. Or it could be a mix ITN have produced themseleves, but I would say the former is most likely.

I don't know why they bother doing a regional round-up at 9.20 - they only do one story - couldn't they integrate the live bit with a regional studio into the ITV News Network at 9.30?
The Regional Round-up at 3.20 is much better where they do several stories from several regions. I hope they do more of that sort of thing. (Though I didn't see it today - was it the same as Monday?)
They really ought to repeat the News Network through the night in the back half hour, after the repeat of the 10.30 bulletin.

I actually really really like the new music. It adds a bit of movement to the news, and it also sounds good with the regions - even Lookaround has a bit more pizazz.
(Of course, if anybody who has access to the music were to send me some mp3s, I'd be most grateful... for personal use only...!)
Seriously though, I'm really pleased with the rejig. Nothing too drastic is wrong with it - just minor changes and that's all. Pleasantly surprised.

BTW have the news channel actually used that breaking news text on the wall a la SKYnews or have they opted not to use it?
Yes, see the image below, you really can't miss it. They have a wide shot and the the text animates on the newswall with a drum beat sting, and then lots of "Breaking News" captions appear and float on the wall behind the presenter.
