Sorry TVD - i didnt bungle you in with the other anoraks! You can now be included within the Official Wales Thread Anarok Group with their yearly AGM at the Camarthen Youth Centre on the third Wednesday of December.(must bring your own prawn sandwiches and bottles of dandelion and burdock pop)

ROFLOL

And what exactly is going to be discussed at the AGM? Can you imagine me, you, TV D, ohwhatanight and Whataday all together Laughing

Im not sure where ohwhatanight has gone, last I heard he was in Oz for a month, but he left ages ago so his return should be imminent.

I was *certain* that was Sally Johnson when I saw the report on ITV Wales News, however I wasnt wearing my glasses at the time so I may be wrong. Maybe she has left to work behind the scenes, or maybe she will turn up on GMTV on Thursday.

Anyway, I noticed the endcap at the end of Inspirations this afternoon was "A Carlton Production" Rolling Eyes Surely now it should be an "ITV Wales" production? Maybe cos Inspirations is mid series they have decided to leave endcaps as they are for now, but maybe new series will have "ITV Wales" endcaps?

now why couldn't they put a square for Anglesey (sp?) on their map?

disgraceful Mad

Wot ! No Ynys Mon ! The heathens ! Hangings too good , bring back the Guillotine . It's that Clive Jones' fault - he's gone all cosmopolitan , - all those promises and they can't even get an accurate map. You know what it is don't you ? - they can't pronounce half the names in Welsh Wales so they're gradually withdrawing and denying their existence - it's a bit like the Russians used to do - they'd paint people out of photographs , but they have digital " technology " these days with which to do it ! Poor Anglesey , who's next - personally I wouldn't be sorry to see the back of Llandudno with all those scousers on the dole there. Or is it Colwyn Bay ? Confused

I wonder what has happened to the Camarthenshire peninsula aswell?

Maybe all the ruffians from Swansea have pinched it and are selling it off to the bad people from neath.

No cup of tea for you Jez.

What's that glow in the middle - is that radiation from the nuclear reactor at Trawsfynydd spreading south ? Or is it from the new high strength varieties of Cannabis being grown in Mid - Wales ? Smile

In fact, it is a very mid-1980s style map which has no place on 2004 television screens.

Awww, I've missed all of the fun today. I've only just come back from a quick visit to Hampshire and drove through Nick Harvey's stamping ground (AKA Wiltshire). £4.60 I've just paid to cross the Severn bridge into Wales. That's the price of a packet of expensive cigarettes!

Opinions on ITV Wales "News" then:

Studio looks hardly any different, and that sodding desk IS BACK! It's been there 5 sodding years now. It'll fall apart on air soon, mark my words. Bloody Culverhouse cheapskates.

Studio is a dull shade of blue, backdrop even worse than before, and Lucy Cohen still looks like someones just attatched electrodes to her clit.

Another pathetic relaunched for Welsh television. I'm sure Wales Today will have a super new look when they decide to revamp (probably this year sometime). Afterall, the BBC gets a lot more money than ITV Wales, so it should be better.

You can't really go wrong with a sparkly beige & red studio with a fab MFI wooden floor! Wink

I would like to see WT adopt similar titles used by it's counterparts in England though. Wales has so much great natural and urban scenery, it's a shame not to show it off.

Why only one square for Pembrokeshire? Surely the southern Pembs folk (who have running water, jobs & clean lifestyles) shouldn't be banded together with the cave-dwelling hoodlums living in the Preseli hills?

What does everyone think of the small studio, which was used for the late news with Jonathan last night and for GMTV bulletins with Andrew this morning?

I think its much better than the old small studio!

I dont think it looks any different - does it Jez? They have replaced the tv screen that used to have a HTV logo on the front of it with a shiny new monitor and thats the only change i can sea.

At least they’ve not gone for the "WOMAN HAS ARM BITTEN OFF BY A LION" shock tactics to make the headlines exciting like they did yesterday. How cheap.

Poor Ian Lang was drenched in those floods though.

On the whole I’ve noticed most regions haven’t changed much, just made their set blue and added a couple of things, the format is still broadly the same. But, from what I’ve seen and read, most English regions have a preview with Mark and Mary half way through the programme [recorded] -- but unless I’ve missed it, Wales don’t seem to do this. Probably the ‘national’ news thing about it – enough to fit in as it is.

Over on the BBC [with its new backdrop] -- just *how* long is Derek going to be away for? We’re on 3 weeks now. Sending pretty young network women up to Cardiff I’m sure pleases the gallery, but it’s just not the same.

Will an online petition help?
