I like the new music for the ITV News channel but the set looks more boring than the previous one. Its like there reading the news from a small broom cupboard.

This is the single-presenter CSO you're seeing at the moment. 0700-1130 and 1230-1600 the NC was from the main set which is much more impressive.

Dual-anchoring is fantastic, worked well on the breakfast show. I hope it continues this evening. What happened on Alastair Stewart's Show? Was Lucy co-presenting or just reading the main news? Same for earlier, was Steve Scott just doing the sport or was he co-presenting?

Lucy was doing the headlines and other updates during Alastair's show.

Steve's been a full co-presenter.

This afternoon we've had
1300-1315 Nicholas Owen
1315-1400 Nicholas Owen and Steve Scott
1400-1500 Chris Rogers and Steve Scott
1500-1600 Steve Scott and Felicity Barr
1600-1730 Felicity Barr
1730-1830 Leyla Daybelge

I expect Chris Rogers would have been on at 1600 if they hadn't been using the small CSO.

As I don't like the current titles, I've had a go at some new ones myself.

Oh right thanks James, I hope that Chris and Leyla do the evening together, then.

This might have been mentioned, but the break at the end of the hour, just before the TOTH headlines is now 4 minutes, not 3.

I think one of the problems with this relaunch is that now the News Channel is able to be much more ambitious pres-wise in the new set, the limitations are now much more obvious when they are forced to use the single-presenter CSO set.

Previously the pres differences were much less noticeable so the overall effect was slicker.

Ooh, nice Wales News titles. The set is the old one, but tarted up with the new branding.

The Itv1 News Ident popped up here in the south, with our own countinuity and then the 'new' Meridian Tonight ident, and i have to say it is a very slick look, the titles are a bit dissapointing but the set re-dress looks good. That dog looks a bit half hearted thou, but the esscence of the show has been kept

The titles for London Tonight are OK, but the DOG is annoying. If they have to have it there, they can at least make it a bit smaller, and put a clock on it.

OR......... just get rid of it altogether. Rolling Eyes

Well, we got a test card for about seven seconds

Followed by a still shot of the ITV breakbumper for about another 10 seconds. Anyone else see this?

Granada Reports has the same set as normal, with new yellow panels on the back below the screens, and new titles, astons and DOG. The astons are in the same style as the national news, and the DOG is too, with 'Granada Reports' above the squares, in the bottom left corner. The music is the same as the national too, with the same style flying squares as the trailer.

WOW!

Like the new look London Tonight titles. The way all the squares have pictures of London and rotating.
Nice music but not as good as original.
I like the new seethrough blue and yellow squares. I think they look better than itv's.
Hate the DOG in the left corner!

Overall 8/10 (music & DOG let it down)

PS: I see it's a news hour now because our London announcer said:
"London Tonight presented by Anna-marie-Ash and Alaistair Stewart and the National News with Mark Austin and Mary Nightingale" So I presume their will be no ads just going straight into the ITV News.

EDIT: Just now we have had a live link up with Mark and Mary in the studio, so the NC is coming from a CSO set.
