And why's it in 4:3 - we were promised widescreen weren't we?

No we weren't, all we had were a few unconfirmed comments on these forums.

Since its re-launch, BBC really has become very enclosed in its "room". The scale of the BBC's news operation I do not think is reflected by being presented in such a small space - the screen that they use behind the presenters is pretty much what ITV used to do on the Evening News, and really does little to help the presenter explain a story - they might aswell put on-screen graphics on.

ITV's new set is brilliant now, a lot lot better. The set is airy, the presenters aren't sandwiched in between the newswall, they have already used the "theatre" to good effect

Yep, News 24 is enclosed in a room - it's just that it's quite an important room...the newsroom! Both News 24 and Sky News come live from a working, bustling, newsroom which makes the atmosphere better.

itv news are now in a studio totally separate from news - they're cut off. It's so blatantly a TV studio rather than a newsroom. It's more suited to a game show than a news channel.

ITV Wales News has launched. The astons fit in nicely with the dog. Do all regions have DOGs?

The set looks similar to the old one, and it might even be the same one. However, there's not really much to the smaller set to notice anyway.

Granada News doesnt have a DOG but when Peter Berry was saying about the merger it had this ITV Granada logo but like the old ITV NEWS logo.
Is there a similar logo for Carlton?
The Titles aren't that bad they just don't fit
EDIT: The weather graphics haven't changed either

At the end of ITV Wales News it had a never before seen "ITV Wales" logo, and below stated "An ITV Production".

Anybody have screenshots of the 10.55 bulletin?

Does anyone think the set looks a bit dark when just the CSO newswall is in view? Just saw the summary at 10:50... very dark and dull for a daytime bulletin...

Central News's titles look a little tacky... with bevelled boxes of views of the Midlands in the titles..

It all rather looks very 'Granada-esq'... why couldn't we go down the Carlton route instead? Their on screen designs seems to look much more professional...

Well I had a quick look through all the regions there and they've all got different studios, which is good. Some have DOGs, some bottom left, some top right, some have the programme name in that funny font, some don't, some a moving background, some static, some have pictures from the region, some don't.

Does every region have the map of the UK made up of the squares, with a square highlighted on your particular part of the region ?

I don't like the "Live With ..." graphic scrolling behind all the time - it's very offputting - do we have to be reminded all the time as to who we are watching?
