Nice little preview from Jonathan at the end of the last HTV news this afternoon -- with the screen behind him, all the little squares were shimmering and reflecting on the map behind him.

Obviously that's the old desk and a familiar shot from the HTV news, so perhaps they're not revealing changes in the *actual* studio until tomorrow afternoon. Cutting from Jonathan back to [the very serious] Richard in the crappy purple small studio really was quite different. At last that purple has gone.

There was a very self important music sting after Jonathan had finished too.

We've also seen the back of HTV weather now then. Wonder if the Carlton and Granada regions' weather graphics will be standardised as well?

So does that mean that Richard Morgan, Juliette Piper, Andrew Jones AND Jon HIll have all been at work on a weekend? Shocked

We usually end up with Richard Noseworthy, Rob Shelley or Victoria Pearce reporting or presenting at the weekend! Nice to have all the big guns in at the weekend! I wonder what Lucy was doing though?

How awful that new logo looks. It reminds me of something I'd see in the 1970's section of TV Ark.

I think that promotion Jon recorded tonight was recorded on Friday, surely if he was in today they would have got him to read the news instead of Richard Morgan.

So we have Andrew Jones in the morning then? Hardly suprising I suppose.

Swansea Sound, the presenters normally have a rota for the weekend with them on once in every 7 or 8 weeks, Juliet, Andrew, Richard M etc are part of this rota along with Rob, Stuart and the others. I should imagine this is the case for reporters too, Ive never seen Victoria Pearce read the news but yes she does sometimes report at the weekend.

And HTV isnt quite dead yet, we still have Emma Jesson with the late weather forcast at about 10.40 Laughing

Indeed. Probably because that 'ITV' is pretty much the same style as the old 1980s one

I think the word I'm looking for, based on one quick shot done no doubt on Friday evening, is insipid.

Hmmmm

That studio doesnt look at all different apart from a different image on the big screen they got! I hope this rebrand lives up to all the hype that has been mentioned on every news bulletin since Friday!

Only six hours to go until Andrew Jones (may) launch the ITV Wales News service?

Might be worth mentioning that there was new music carrying on behind Jonathan as he spoke, with a sting afterwards. He also mentioned the weather bulletin would be included in the programme.

To be honest, the fact that HTV isn't used anymore after 35 years is quite a big change, coupled with new music and a new format, it's a big enough change to be going along with.

I'm sure Andrew will be sitting in a dazzlingly eighties silver and light blue virtual studio later on this morning, no doubt with some graphics decided by people hundreds of miles away suitable to fit everyone in the country. HTV West said yesterday's afternoon bulletin was the last "HTV News". Must be the same for everyone.

How strange not to use the same style "itv" that is used in the "itv" identification logo.

And now that the local news is fully incorporated into the news from London, it will be much easier to kill off when the time comes.
