Wow! Thank you William Neale.

I'm 100% impressed. Recent news themes have been dire, like five's and BBC 24's rehash (which was ok, but I liked the old one better).

But this is everything news should be. Grand and orchestral and wonderful, just like the studio.

It does sound quite American actually... but I love it.

Any one want a sneak preview of the new music? It's the classic ITN music, arranged by Dave Hewson and Bill Baylis - much better than the current one. There is two different arrangements - one for national and one for regional possibly, although I can't tell the difference.MP3 File

If that is the one they are going to use it is a very good remix, and sounds pretty serious and it does seem to mix with the new set.

Bring on 5.30am!

It sounds like something they'd use for the morning news actually. Has a 'good morning... what are you doing up at 5AM?' feeling to it.

ooh, very nice. About time ITV got decent music instead of the rubbish one at the moment. Better than fives at any rate

Sounds great! I'm guessing that the gap between the opening bong and the music is where the voiceover will go - or perhaps the presenters will introduce themselves instead.

Seems they've gone back to fixed headlines with the bongs in place? Recently they remixed the music so that they could shove any length clips in and put the bongs where they wanted them.

Much better this way anyway - it sounds neater when everything is a set length.

Apparently there's a bong, one headline, then the music. After the music, I would expect it zooms into the studio then the rest of the headlines. Then right at the end I expect the voiceover.

Ah blimey this is all getting me wonderfully excited. I can picture some great titles with the awesome music and add the studio, the ITV News presenters, reporters and this is just 100% perfect. If everything I have seen and heard is true, fantastic!!!

Not necessarily - the version I uploaded had the bongs, but there is also a bongless version.

Ah right. Just what I'd been told, that's all. Very Happy

Is it time for an internet feed of the news channel perhaps?

Thanks for the upload William.

Oh yes, now that's nice - authoritative without being stuffy. Roll on tomorrow!

5.30am tomorrow is VERY exciting. New studio, graphics, hopefully re-jigged music and thankfully we will never have to see the dreadful fake newsroom set that will disappear into the abyss of dire newsroom studio sets forever

Err...the new set is fake, just like the current one. As for issues of green v blue CSO, surely they'll just stick with whatever they have at the moment to generate the CSO behind the presenters.

As for the desk, well the studio is "designed" by the same person who designed the News 24 set (I use inverted commas as I don't see a lot of design in the caps). He probably ordered in bulk to save costs for both companies Rolling Eyes

The figure of £36million annual spent is truly shocking- I may have to stop slagging off ITV news and start feeling sorry for them.
