I had a look through the site and it made good reading when I read the part about Why We Are Merging, though from a Business sense, half of it is true and neccessary, but some of the bullsh*t on that page, with quotes like
Quote:
Building to make a stronger Regional Identity
Though the site seems to be more business really, than ITV as a whole network.
BTW Did you manage to see what the web address was for that Granada Factsheet / book which Tony had on the desk, as it looked interesting, as I have just looked on Granada's site and I can't find a thing.
It can also be obtained from Regional Affairs, Granada TV, M60 9EA.
Decided to try and catch a bit of Granada and HTV West yesterday, as well as Wales -- and that was one of the things I caught.
I'm getting the uneasy perception from the end of this thread that Anna-Maria Ashe is being removed from LNN. If so, this is scandalous and outrageous all at once, and I will not hear of it.
I have to say, the new text font for the regions is very Granada. In fact it looks like the granada logo! I am looking foward to see the new opening titles and music from ITV News. From some pictures mi have seen a couple of pages back , the titles look like a mock someone did last year on the forum.
Meridian Tonight has just announced that there will be a new look on Monday. Anyone notcied the EPG has billed 'Meridian Tonight' on Monday as Meridian News?
Was that Southampton's? The Maidstone one didn't say anything - just mentioned a Meridian picture editor who was getting an award. Sad we'll be losing that music. It was nice hearing it over some images (such as Bonfire night etc..) at the end of the programme. Did anyone encode the Evening News section?
It was the West edition of Meridian Tonight (from Southampton). Andy and Mary just commented on a new look for Meridian Tonight.
As I understand it now there's no talkback or anything and the regions just opt at a fixed time, its up to Bill Neely to fill, which he obviously made a mess of. Anyone know if anything to stop that is being introduced next week, if the regions are working closer with the network so the links can take place smoothly?
There never has been talkback has there, just the red phone - so I wouldn't expect that to change.
Nothing special for the last ever HTV News at 6, although at the end Jonathan Hill said "and don't forget, it's a big day for HTV News on Monday, as we're getting a face lift."
It would have been nice for them to have shown some old clips or something since it was the last ever 6pm HTV News. When it was the last Wales At Six (also when Alan Rustard left) back in 1994 they showed some old clips etc which was nice.
Although it was nice to see Tara present last night with Jon for a change, wonder what happened to Lucy Cohen.
Well Jez - the last bulletin is sunday tea-time and something special might be planned for the last ever HTV News bulletin! (i certainly hope so anyway)
