Someone asked earlier about the ad poster campaign - here's one at Waterloo station, right next to the News 24 screen...

Does anyone know if '30 minutes' means the new bulletin will be longer than the current 20 mins or so, or does this duration include the regional news?

No, the 30 minutes is a reference to the fact that the bulletin is going out 30 minutes later.

Sorry if i sound (and am) stupid but when will the new look first air. Lunctime or News at 10:30?

Neither, apparently. Between 5.30-7am seems likely.

To be honest, I may be wrong, but it seems unlikely that they'll spend £1m on a new set - and launch it on a largely unwatched early morning bulletin. 7am on the News Channel is more of a probability as they plan to launch a new breakfast show there.

They could then use the NC as guinea pig to sort out any teething problems in time for 10.30. Smile

Set your alarm clocks in time for 5:30, 'cos that's when the first show with the new look will be.

Well, if that's the case, it was lost on me! Surely the point is the bulletin doesn't really have a fixed time at the moment, so half an hour later than 'no specific time' is still 'no specific time'!

No I think it's a sideways swipe at the BBC Ten O'Clock News. It's sort of saying why watch the news at 10pm when a lot can change in half an hour. That's how I read it.

And does the News Channel start at 6am, or repeat the Morning News up until 7am as it does presently ?

So does Owen Thomas get to launch the all-new ITV News then?

I thought the idea was supposed to be the 'anything can happen in 30 minutes' is based upon the time of the BBC's main evening bulletin. i.e. being at 10pm, they may miss some breaking news at 10:30. Even though I can't remember the last chance that anything national newsworthy happened at 10:30

Not convinced all this would occur to the average punter. Seems a bit of a confused message to me, but maybe I'm being a bit blonde today! Confused

My money's on "ITV Late News", as that's what Granada refer to the current programme as when they opt back.

Loving the studio pictures, it looks amazing - it'll certainly knock the spots off News 24 and their abysmal relaunch.

Ohh, I do hope the names of the News Bulletins on ITV1 change so they are more co-ordinated.

ITV Lunchtime News
ITV Evening News
ITV News/ITV News at Ten Thirty or whatever

That doesn't sound right.

So hows about:

Arrow ITV Lunchtime News
Arrow ITV Early Evening News (6:30PM)
Arrow ITV Evening News (10:30PM)

I think it may be more a case of:
Arrow ITV Lunchtime News
Arrow ITV Evening News
Arrow ITV Late Evening News

The 'Early Evening News' was the name of the buliten that used at 5:40pm (before the last shedule reshuffle).
