News 24 is more probable too them though! It was much more botched than if it had been a World production. Perhaps The World should have produced a special programme for BBC Four and BBC World with coverage on. Like the Lyse "around the glooooooobe" Doucet Isreal Elections Special!
Jeremy is replacing Jane Standley. She's coming back to the UK with her husband, Greg Barrow, who is the United Nations Correspondent. He's being replaced by Suzannah Price. Emma Simpson can sometimes be seen doing reports from NY, as she's freelance out there.
All the others people have mentioned (Matt Frei, Justin Webb, John Leyne, Nick Childs, Katy Kay etc) are Washington Correspondents. Nick Bryant has moved (can't remember exactly where to, but it's India or somewhere like that) and as people have said, he took a turn in Iran for the earthquake.
Other BBC Correspondents in the US include David Willis in LA (although he's away at the moment and Robert Nisbet is covering), and Fergus Parkinson in Miami.
Obviously Sian will fill in for Sophie, but she cant do months of 5 days alone. Perhaps Jane Hill will get to do the Six?? I cant see them moving Anna Ford. Or maybe Fiona Bruce will do a few?? Any other ideas??

There's no certainty that Sian will do it - she does seem like the most obvious choice, but she may be needed on Breakfast or something.
I imagine Jane is probably next in the pecking order.
oooooh! Whoever was on the One Today (Presumably Anna?) must be ill as Simon McCoy has just done the 12pm update and Sophie's on at 1.
Does anyone know who did the 11pm update? Was it Simon?
Yeah she hasnt been on for ages. I dont think Darren should do as many weekends and should split the 1 with anna. He is good on the 1 but not at weekends. The weekends should be used to test for replacenents for Sophie. They must include:-
As well as a few more of the male newsreaders incase of the regulars becoming ill:
Phillip Hayton
Simon McCoy
Bill Turnbull (I dont think ive ever seen him do a single headed bulletin apart from Christmas Day)
Chris Eakin (I think he would be good on BBC One and its not as if he's new to it because of the simulcast after greg dykes resignation)
Dermot Murnaghan (Done a few already but could do more)
Peter Sissons
Matthew Amroliwala
Chris Lowe (Used to Network News)
One woman that has been missed out:
Moira Stuart (despite being "the last of the continuity Newsreaders" she can still keep the crowds coming in so to speak)
