I'm glad they went with purple. Is purple now their colour with it being the colour of the box. Or is it yellow because yellow is the colour of their idents? Or is it both?

BBC Two was originally green/blue (a sort of Windows 9x Green), that was the channel's 'official' colour.

It was the first time I've experienced this breaking news for Britain. I flipped through the news channels earlier today. When I reached ITV NEWS I found Felicity Barr giving the breaking news about the two UK soldiers that died in a car crash early on New Years Day in Basra. Two minutes later I flicked back to Sky News to find them breaking the news, then 3 minutes later I found news 24 then breaking the news. I was impressed that itv news had broken it first. I couldn't understand how they did it faster than the others, especially as at the time ITV NEWS were in the middle of a live interview, and both Sky News & BBC News 24 were just in the middle of headlines.

A: It was broken - going to Latest post didn't work..
B: This thread is dealing with the relaunch of ITV News (and strictly speaking, not ITV News itself), and will probably close at relaunch to be replaced by another thread.

Alex Thomas talked viewers through the FA Cup draw this afternoon. They should use him more often.
Btw, was there a blinding reason for closing the old ITV News thread? Why wasn't it kept open until the relaunch like the BBC News one?

I don't understand how they do it, but they always do.

I have just sopken to a different people in the Regional Offices and they don't know very much info on the February 2nd Changes.
Some know nothing and some say they have heard rumours too and don't seem to want to say anything.
Is this some top-secret event or have we all been mis-informed by the different artcicles we have read and people we have spoken to.?.

Well my sources simply tell me that the astons will be standardised, and elements of the existing graphics and set designs "tweaked" to more closely match the new look. No new desks or out-and-out new looks have been bought in as far as they are concerned.

That sounds utterly pointless then.

Then in the case of Granada Reports , we already look like the National News so we probably won't change much then, going off what is said above.
It may just be the other regions like Border and Westcountry which need to adapt the new corporate look then.

Yes, but Granada Reports may then look nothing like the new look ITV News.

Yes you are right, does anybody know anthing about the new-look, anything really informative about it.
