I have been reading the New Season press release on Sky Publicity and noticed this line. The season also includes a slate of original commissions and a fresh look for the channel. This literally leads to the conclusion of a new look for the channel itself, but could refer to the programming.

Please can one of our resident Sky Insiders pass on some details...

Not an insider, but the new look will appear on-screen on Monday 5 January 2004. I think the logo is being kept (or possibly slightly modified, no idea), and that it is just the rest of the presentation that will be refreshed. Wouldn't be surprised if some of those images in the press pack are incorporated into the new look, but as I say other than the date, that's all.

What time does the new look launch on SKone

Not sure, I would have thought it would have been start of play at 6am+ this morning; if not, then later on this morning, or perhaps later on tonight when the new series` start.

Some traliers over the weekend were different than the old look; advertising 24 on Sky One in January, I think these might be the new look.

This constant Review of the Year stuff on Sky News has been ridiculous. No joke - only once of the numerous times I've flicked over to SN during the past couple of weeks has there been any actual news on. They could have at least put a ticker up or something.

I normally look forward to "Year in Review" programmes, as it's nice to look back on things, but I'd agree that this year they've been laid on a little too thickly. And I always seemed to catch the same two or three. Was there a serious shortage of presenters over the Christmas period or something?

Anyway, glad that normal service is being resumed today.

Is it just me or are the One on One programmes a direct copy of HardTalk?

It's just you.

121 is 15 mins, Hardtalk is half an hour.
121 is generally with politicans. Hardtalk is with newsmakers.
121 is only broadcast on BBC News 24. Hardtalk is broadcast on N24, World, BBC Two, and on BBC One overnight with N24.

Ahh.

Then in that case, why has the BBC got a newish show with the same name as a show on Sky.

Anyway, Hardtalk is very successful, and i'm not surprised it's being copied.

Hasn't One on One been going since the 1990's?

Not the same name:

One on One is the Sky programme

One to One is the BBC programme.

So how long has One on One (on Sky News) been on? I've only just noticed it and it screamed HardTalk to me!
