Strangely, it seems that when Su is on HTV - we still get one of the usual Brum lot.

Sue was doing the weather again on HTV Wales today but not on Carlton Central..... but being a true Central presenter does she present/record it at Central or HTV?

I do believe that all forecasts for Central, HTV Wales & West are recorded in Brum.

*bringing kay to 2004*

couldn't have put it better myself young stuart!

*group hug for all the midlands forumers*

im sure everyone, like me has been too busy living the kay dream to post, but id like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a fantastic midlands new year. its shaping up to be a *great* year for kay already, and it can only get better!

granted, we all have kay, her system and the midlands on the positive side, but this year will see the death of a dear old friend. central news will, most likely trip up on the rug in the kitchen, knock his head on the fridge and die in its sleep during this year. dan barton, arati hali and their merry band of evil imperialist london invaders, (not content with making the set into a caravan, titles into a late 80s romanian effort and slapping itv news logos on anything that moves) will finally strip the shows remaining dignity and all we'll have left is 20 years of fond memories. i told dan he ought to realign his moral compass, but did he listen ... it is now pointing firmly up his very own backside Sad

it is our duty to try and support uncle bob, auntie llew, cousin jo and the entire pro-kay members of the team during this difficult time, but no doubt we'll have to use midlands today as an emotional crutch.

our dearly beloved temple of cheap, tacky telly will also be taken from us this year. pebble mill, the home to a dynasty of daytime telly will be laid to rest. i know we are all preparing ourselves, with it being an end of an era, but lets not forget the pebble mill ethos is well and truly ingrained in the people there, so all is not lost.

on a positive note, kays revolutionary system will make all of our lives easier and easier and we will all like kay even more.

so thats my [actually, its *our*] vision of 2004 - im sure you will all join me in a toast to living in the best bit of britain *cheers*

Three cheers for Kay!

Hip Hip, Hooray for Kay!

Hip Hip, Hooray for Kay!

EDIT: Now that I think about it, who would win in a fight - Kay Alexandra or BIG MOIRA ?
It's all theoretical, mind - we all know that if such a situation were to occur IRL, Kay and Moira would merge and give us a super-newsreader experience!

Surprised no-one's noted Mr Owen's return to the MT sofa after 3/4 weeks.

Even Ms Virdee managed a couple of appearences in this period.

(Obviously if I'm wrong, I'll stand corrected !)

Bit of radio news now.

Both Waddo, Julie & Alex Trelinski are back doing the respective Late Shows.

Malc 'n' Mollie on 95.6fm were reunited for one day on Monday, but Tuesday to Thursday was/are in the hands of Danny Kelly, who is just doing Monday & Friday this week on the WM Early Show, with Tom 'My sister's in Casualty!' Manners (Anybody spot sister Sarah in the free Maxim calendar in the Screws of the World on Sunday, as 'Miss October', along such company as Pamela Anderson & Jordan !) looking after Tuesday to Thursday.

Doolan's on his hols next week, & as last year, he's lined up some 'illustrious' stand ins !
(Remember the likes of union boss now retired, Bill Morris, The Move's Carl Wayne, & the West Mids then top cop, Eddie Crew & one of his female sidekicks, Ellie Bird, who actually did most of the show!)

This time it's :

Monday : Well known, much travelled 'footballer', one Stanley Collymore.
(I'll leave the potentially libelous stuff to someone else!)

Tuesday : Suzanne Virdee(presumbly a plug on MT on Monday too!).

Wednesday : Trish Adudu from 'Loose Women', whoever she is !

Thursday : Former Coventry Labour Mp, Dave Nellist.

The 'piece de resistance', one time Radio Stoke employee, some TV work,(used to appear with some fat Man U supporter on breakfast TV!), & former 'public relations' for Cadbury's Snowflake, Anthea Turner, on Friday.

(I know I'm taking the p*** with some of these, but just humour me!)

All info from tonight's Evening Mail, so blame them if it's wrong !

Can I mention this?

Well my brother went to the Hippodrome recently and stood behind Kay Alexander in a queue (she's patron or something)...

He said he found her to be extremely rude and facetious to the staff and the customers around her.

Why is it she's so popular?

Just asking Smile Thank you.

BIG MOIRA and Kay would not fight, they are both far too classy for such things. Please use the correct colour next time sweetie.
