I think Nick has already said that he was misinformed about that.

Just for the benefit of the totally thick amongst you, my comment about being wrong was ULTRA-SARCASM.

Check back on February 2nd, folks!

It's a shame to see the goal rush go, although the programme wasn't very good I think Angus Scott was - anyone know what he's going to do?

I expect he'll hang around for ITV Sport, as I understand that Gabby Logan is being promoted to no.1 following Des Lynam's departure. So, they'll probably keep Matt Smith & Angus as they'll be needed for Champions League I guess.

Maybe they could get Angus to present the sport on ITV News (or the News Channel), he could join his brother then. Remember when Gabby used to do the sport on ITV News ?

Incidentally, Angus is presenting the London Boat Show which is on ITV1 next Sunday afternoon.

Yes, I did detect the sarcasm Nick. I would just like to say, that people seem to be latching onto the wrong people for their inside information. Speaking from experience on this forum I have always found that Nick knows what he is talking about, and he is well connected, if a little cantankerous at times.

Shame he's decided to keep shtum now.

Sorry, I should have picked that up. Confused

Ah well, what ITV are planning if true isn't surprising, trying to fragment the news audience during the 6.00 newshour by doing the 20/30/10 or whatever minute split for national/regional/national. Shows how desperate they are to try and get decent news audiences.

I don't think that the SMG stations will have a new look .STV only launched the new look Scotland Today last January and Grampian relauched their new look North Tonight six months ago when they moved premises.

Well Granada changed their look in September last year I think, and now they are changing again, I wouln't be too surprised if SMG did relaunch.

Where is all the money coming from to introduce this unified look? Border certainly won't have enough money to relaunch with a decent look, will they get money from the new ITV plc?

Well the deadline seems way too short, none of the insiders have actually come up with any substantial information, and yet in just 4 weeks time, we should be having a relaunched ITV News, News Channel and all the regions. Seems like a very tight timetable.

Yes but Granada are behind the single ITV company and unified look .SMG are not in favour of any of this.I find it hard to believe unless ITV pay for the new look their not called SMG for nothing you know .
Scottish Meangie Group are just so tight.

A huge relaunch like that can be done - the BBC in 1997 was one example, providing they've done a lot of planning. Plans about the relaunch have probably been going on for many, many months now. Us finding out the information all of a sudden a month beforehand implies they've not got any time left. I'm sure that's not the case.

Well, the 30 min bulletin is back next Saturday (far better than the recent 10 min early evening bulletins).

Maybe the new look could see an hour of ITV News and Sport from 4.30pm. It would begin with the news, then from 4.45pm have live reports as games finished. At 5pm a full sports bulletin with classified result, with regional news at 5.15pm and a news summary to end the programme.

I bet a weekend news bulletin with steve scott presenting and angus doing the sports bit would be hilarious
