Bear in mind that you need a lot of light to get a decent picture out of a TV camera.

No, not a 'lot of light'. Lighting that has been set up correctly needn't flood the set.

Maybe I should qualify that...

Working with a flourescent tube or 60 Watt bulb is acceptable for some just as others would need a mercury lamp to work under. Indeed, some of us can, and do, work with just ambient light. That doesn't mean a camera will show a nice bright picture, though Wink

Don't expect to see the new ident launch tomorrow. I've just heard it won't be used until later on in the month.

Someone's in the new Newsroom area rehearsing something. Is it Martin Stanford?

There's a camera behind the desk, looking towards the newswall, aswell as one near the newswall, looking towards the new desk.

Well there's nothing else to do on Sunday evenings is there?.... Cool

Yes.

This constant Review of the Year stuff on Sky News has been ridiculous. No joke - only once of the numerous times I've flicked over to SN during the past couple of weeks has there been any actual news on. They could have at least put a ticker up or something.

I have been reading the New Season press release on Sky Publicity and noticed this line. The season also includes a slate of original commissions and a fresh look for the channel. This literally leads to the conclusion of a new look for the channel itself, but could refer to the programming.

Please can one of our resident Sky Insiders pass on some details...

Not an insider, but the new look will appear on-screen on Monday 5 January 2004. I think the logo is being kept (or possibly slightly modified, no idea), and that it is just the rest of the presentation that will be refreshed. Wouldn't be surprised if some of those images in the press pack are incorporated into the new look, but as I say other than the date, that's all.

What time does the new look launch on SKone
