And now I'd like some sympathy please because I hurt my finger yesterday.

OK , we'd all like to know HOW you hurt your finger ? HMMMMM ?

Well as much as it'd be a more interesting tale if it was done during something unspeakable or to do with wrestling badgers, it was on a piece of ice. It can be very sharp you know.

Anyway speaking of look-backs of the year -- what did happen to your friend, young Not-Normal?

Not my friend , or as much a friend as you are in the forum context , but - dunno . If he was telling the truth about his operation , God knows what he may be up to by now.
Shame about Bob Monkhouse , by the way , a real talent. Sad

Well with the temperatures tonight I hope he's wearing something a little more insulating than a skirt.

And quite how you got from sex changes to Bob Monkhouse is your own secret, but yes, sad news indeed. A look on imdb.com reminded me just how many things he did that I grew up with. I loved Bob's Full House the best methinks.

Frodo in the Lord of the Rings, you know.

Funny, you're the second person to say that today. So where is the gallery then? I want to change my picture!

Oh, it's gone now, tut. It redirects to the metroyawn mini pics gallery with stunning brown backdrop. But feel free to post another picture of course, that one was *so* 2002.

And, I'm led to understand, comparisons to Elijah Wood aren't *necessarily* a bad thing, though you want to be careful you've not got quite so hairy feet.

And BBC Wales was forced to issue its first "Warning: contains scenes of leg warmers" announcement last night. A piece of advice I did well to heed.

It's public service broadcasting at its best, if you ask me. But then, I would say that. Smile

Hehe!

I know an announcer who'd also like a new picture of Matt.

Her old copy is now completely full of holes from the darts!

Funny, she still sounds as pleased with herself as ever.

I saw the second part of the News Review 2003 on HTV News tonight, they had Catherine Zeta Jones and my close relation Sian Lloyd being voted off "Im a Celeb" - no mention of Catharine Evan-Zeta-Willams though Laughing

And Rhodri Davies also looked back at the Rugby World Cup

I wonder if a new look for HTV News is on the cards for 2004?

Hello there young Jez. Not sure if you've read the <Granada Reports> thread, perhaps thinking you've no interest, but some regional ITV peeps are saying that all the regional news programmes are being pulled in line with a general ITV look on 2nd February, about five weeks away. I know that's the day that ITV Plc is properly created.

I think HTV's tongues have fallen out, salivating at the prospect to be honest. ITV News Wales is likely now in my opinion, though I still hope not. The times of proudly covering up the [itv] on the NPU trails have passed some time ago now. Apart from the few members of the anti-propaganda glitterati, HTV would relaunch to something close to ITV news even if this 02/04 idea never happens.

My favourite BBC announcer was on this morning too, the Moira Stewart on acid one. Actually it's more Ruth Madoc meets Desmond Tutu, reading the lottery numbers. "Seeeeecks, Twalllve, Thatty tooooo.." Etc.

I noticed Lucy was still nodding when Jon was talking even when they were out and about reporting Laughing

And our poor weatherman, James Wright is suffering with a cold, or so he said on the lunchtime forcast, he is back tommorow lunchtime apparently but wished us all a happy new year incase we are not around tommorow, he is then back on Monday so we must be having Su on Friday.

No I havent read that Granada Reports thread, im not really interested in Granada as I cant get that station but thank you for letting me know what is going on re ITV Regional News

Well now there's two types of favourite isn't there. There's favourite in terms of personality and quality of service [that's the type that likes a Boxing Day drink at work]. And then there's the other type of favourite, being peculiar and incomprehensible [the Desmond Tutu one]. They are both equal -- they cannot fight for my affection.

And Jez -- all I'm saying is, that thread isn't about GR anymore, it's about ITV regional news, but the title hasn't been changed. HTV news is so old now, they'd almost certainly be in the first bunch to get done, if it goes ahead, imo.

That's what you think - you clearly don't understand the workings of the television industry Smile
