I hope not.
Fraid both TOG and Big Ted are windows based.
Explains a lot doesn't it.
Yep - though AIUI Bigted and TOG differ in that Bigted is just a Windows-based control surface for a bit of broadcast kit, whereas TOG is itself generating video?

Yes, Omnibus like their jokes..... many of them get written up into full-blown software!

Digital Dorothy is the countdown voice on Columbus - actually the voice of the Omnibus receptionist at the time. (Originally the option was written as a joke - then people started to ask for it for real.

It's not Christmas yet for goodness' sake!
So when do you reckon Christmas starts? I think for most people it was a few weeks ago! Isn't advent the start - 1st December.
It's a pagan winter festival anyway, the tree idea was nicked by the Christians!

Hi
Just as a matter of interest, where is the national news backdrop? It definitely isn't in the News Centre - they wouldn't have flashy chrome screens, and a sleek, flat layout.
I'm curious that it has been built in Broadcasting House (the future home for BBC News) but is shown virtually because the actual set is currently in TVC.
It might even have been done by PC!
Possibly when they move, it will become non-virtual, as the set and real backdrop will become combined

It isn't actually anywhere, it isn't real, but it is what the newsroom at Broadcasting House should look like when it is finished in 2007.
JO
But would the BBC want to keep the current BBC News look for4 years and then until they change it a Broadcasting House (say 3 years of the set there)

No - Advent is a season of preparation for Christmas. Christmas starts on 25 December.
I'm not against some festivities and decorations in the days leading up to 25 December, but it is not Christmas until Christmas Day.

I think you've jumped the gun slightly! BBC News won't be moving into the W1 centre until 2008 - and that's if it's on time - so I doubt VERY much whether the backdrop is even based on what that will look like.
I'm pretty sure it's based on the current TVC News Centre.
Perhaps when the 1/6/10 gets a revamp with the News 24 style titles etc they may even put a backdrop more like the News 24 one with a frosted view thru to the newsroom?
I think BBC News will look very different by the time the move to W1 happens!
