True - it might be too late for 2003 but there's always next year...Who is head of Pres now?

There isn't one. The Presentation department is now BBC Broadcast, not that presentation would make the decision on such things.

Also note that the C4 idents have been airing all day today!

Same ones since 2000, right?

Unfortunately, yes Sad

New BBC Two ident alert! For the third year running, we've been blessed with a new BBC Two christmas ident. It was used at 9:25pm before the first Christmas movie, Iris. It's a "2" encased in a block of ice which zooms on to the screen, and then moves around a bit afterwards. It appears to be a "serious" ident, because there wasn't a "serious" christmas ident before.

Ice Cube 2 using the Invisible Walls Music.

Will we be seeing Idents from 2001 & 2002?

bah - well I though I'd got there first for once.

How nice not only to have a sneek preview of the BBC2 Christmas #3 ident but then to have that lovely BBC Films sting right after.

And BBC Broadcast is a limited company, correct? Why does that make me cringe?

I thought it was quite good. You know that you've heard the music somewhere before though, which brings it down. 7/10

I hope so. If the yellow twos get a ten-year run like their predecessor, and they add a new christmas ident every year, we may end up with almost as many christmas ones as normal ones...

That is, of course, assuming that no more normal ones will be made Wink

Also, I've noticed that the BBC One christmas next slides have the christmassy, red-skyed ident scene in the background behind the "Next" caption. Is this new, or was it the same last year?

Well the rumours are true about the festive idents on BBC1 this year - if you liked the dancing kids last year you will be very happy!

Are you 100% certain there won't be a new ident for 2003? Please, if you know something put us out of our misery!

No new ident I am afraid - from someone in the know Sad

No new ident for BBC1 defentely , but I understand that the ident may be "different" somehow from how it appeared last year, thats all I was told (might just be the addition of those snowflake things that have appeared in trailers, no idea).

Doesn't look like BBC2 will be getting a new ident either, unless they surprise us and introduce a third christmas ident, but given whats happening with BBC1 I doubt it.

Also, given the BBC christmas idents were launched on a Saturday last year, it might be the same this year?

Oh well - three out of four ain't bad Wink

I hope NOT! Could someone please destroy the master tapes after Christmas? Then we'll have to go back to the old system.
