Well I'm gobsmacked that Sam isn't there. He was by far the best find, he put his own unique style on every song. Mark is a nice enough guy, but he's just a run of the mill singer. Michelle is just a big girl with a big voice.
Can't say I'm fussed by either. Sam should have won.

Well it doesn't seem to have been reported but the Idol's song, Merry Christmas, War Is Over isn't doing too well, in the midweek charts it's at No.5, unsuprisingly being beaten by The Darkness and even funnier Avid Merrion.
Though I have to say their song is annoying me now, plus The Darkness and Avid Merrion have better videos.

Stupidly they put the War Is Over song on the Pop Idol Christmas Album which in itself has shifted 300,000 copies, that's 300,000 less record sales for the single then. Simon Cowell is resigned to the fact they won't be Christmas No.1, still I'd sooner have the Darkness at no.1

I'm glad Sam has gone... he was just the sort of pretentious, pop wannabe... over confident, too self assured... that we could do without...
He was the carbon copy 'pushed through various stage schools or clubs by parents... always in some sort of play or production' sort of kid that you find in their thousands up and down the country...
I mean look at Gareth Gates... despite his stammer, I thought he was again quite self assured and now he's a right one. My reliable sources on the London club scene who have come into contact with him have found him to be utterly arrogant and rude... and all this from an ugly boy with awful teeth who C A N N O T sing.
Michelle isn't *that* good a singer... a bit too nasal for me (her voice very monotonic and her style monotonous)...
That just leaves Mark...
He's *quite* good, seems to get better and he has a very likeable disposition... He's may fav.

Well I've seen most of the links from 7.00pm tonight and the idents I have seen are basically: Michelle, Mark, Michelle and Mark together and finally Simon Cowell, they're using the same background and music as the Simon Cowell ident, it's very nice and slow though Mark looks dodgy with his Microphone in one of the idents.
So they've just used the Mark one at 5.30pm. No doubt then they will use the Michelle one at 5.40pm and then the one with both of them before Pop Idol at 6.45pm. Then maybe they'll show the one of the winner at 9.30pm?

I think is disgusting that STV have not bothered to produce a version of the Pop Idol Idents for Michelle,she is after all from Glasgow they have been plugging her all week on Scotland Today and even had an interview with her on the lunchtime programme . I take it the two remaining promo producers have now gone then from STV although STV never bothered with a Golden Jubilee ident either .
