Why would there be a different DOG, or"tower" to use the modern and trendy vernacular? It's still BBC News 24, regardless of whether the programming strand is branded.
Well it wasn't either, although it was closer to the latter. What replaced the usual moving headline text was actually:
|B|B|C| WEEKEND 24 |B|B|C| WEEKEND 24 |B|B|C| WEEKEND 24 etc
which is probably why people thought the titles had been specially created. As I understand it, if a text headline is not inputted, it defaults to a repeating BBC NEWS logo (i.e. with the actual logo, not just text). The fact that the BBC logo was used in conjunction W24 seems to have resulted in the conclusion that these titles were indeed specially constructed, although apart from that single distinction, the titles were identical to the usual TOTH (minus the big yellow 24).

Hmm Sunday's Breakfast is using the News 24 DOG and box - did Weekend 24 do this yesterday too?

Somebody mentioned earlier that special titles had been created for Weekend 24. Did it end with "Weekend 24" on the screen, or did it simply replace the headline text moving around the globe at the start?
