Oh God, who let *you know who* present on the new set?? He needs jaw surgery - theres something wrong with his teeth! And he even got the top 3 stories mixed up - The EU, then the survivor, oh no, its the Queen, oh then back to the EU Rolling Eyes

I caught the 1pm bulletin and was left totally confused and no more informed about the news than before I started watching.

I think the bulletin was a combination of poor directing and poor presenting. I liked it when Simmons asked Witchell about the Queen: "Is the Queen out of danger now?"

Witchell looked quite pissed off and said quite shirtily to Simmons "The Queen was NEVER in any danger you f*cking *****" (Or words to that effect) Wink

And of course countless times Simmons was looking at the wrong camera and fluffed his lines.

Oh isn't Simmons wonderful - he's like the Boris Johnston of News 24.

I've noticed a lot of looking at the wrong camera in the past few days...

Did anyone notice the different closing titles on BBC World news just a minute ago? They were using much more of those beeps if you know what I mean (the normal opening/closing tiles only have four of them). They sounded just as a new version of the old opening titles which had very many beeps.

Well, all the good work done in the week has been completely ruined this weekend!

News 24 is back to it's old ways - everything's been going wrong!

Heopfully this won't happen again. If it does, they may as well have not bothered with the relaunch.

Last weekend I was nervously optimistic. On Monday I was very very impressed. Today, I've been let down.

It's oviously Andrew Simmonds being let loose in the building.

For God's sake BBC - sake the man - he's useless! Evil or Very Mad ...and the rest of the weekend staff should be warned too!

Is it me, or does the new News 24 not work with one presenter?

He couldn't throw it behind the desk before because of the CSO

LOL yes!! Its a fabulous part of the lineup!

Joanna: "One Day You will get all of the Numbers"
Chris: <taps her hand> "hmm...and then we'll go out"

Very Happy

LOL, great stuff.

I too was bemused at watching Andrew Simmons present. It's as though he needs a bit more experience - although he's had plenty already!

There were a few technical 'difficulties' today - mainly with the titles, but more importantly, Andrew Simmonds just cannot present at all! He fumbles and bumbles his way through the bulletins, and that interview with Nick Witchell at 1pm was hilarious! James is right - the look on Nick's face and his tone was a classic!

I think it would be better with 2 presenters throughout the weekend - I really like it how they do the Six style intro every hour during the week, and it doesn't look as good without it at weekends.

Well I must say I don't watch News 24 particularly often and don't know many of the presenters or line-ups or anything. But I was rather impressed by the female presenter before Simmons... was it Susanna Reid? I think her style fits what News 24 needs perfectly - she was laid back and comfortable to watch but still had that authorititivitivieness.

By the way, they started the countdown from "90" on BBC World, I think it's during the 0100 or 0200GMt on Saturday.

There has never been a 90's countdown on WORLD before, i am interested to see how the theme sounds for the full 90's on WORLD.
