Yep I was watching Zeinab Badawi at 9.00 GMT on World, she kept on talking on top of the thunderclaps, and no visuals with astons either, I think the gaps between the thunderclaps are too short.
Looks like WBR has different version of the main BBC News graphic, where Business Today has no veriation at all!!!!

They seem to be using the it without the live text when it is an as-live pre-record, which looks rather silly to me.
The location text seems to jump randomly from all-caps to just capitalised too!

They seem to be having a few problems with the live/location bug - there is no LIVE text (just an empty red box), and it was on-screen all through a report just then! Also, now the location text is all in capitals...

The bongs on the World vamps are 5 seconds apart, just like all vamps have been since 2000 - so it shouldn't be a problem for the presenters. Zeinab always crashes the headlines though!

Er, I've seen it about 5 times whilst watching on and off already. It should only be reserved for really quite important news imo.

Why don't they ever use the Breaking News sting?
I must have seen about 10 Breaking News's since relaunch and only one has had the sting?
They should use it for every BN!

Interesting blend of countdown pictures and Dateline London trailer sound at 0100

The policy regarding the Breaking News sting seems to be that it is only used when a story is first reported and the strap with the info comes up, and it is only used if the presenters are in-vision when the strap comes up. Otherwise, if the breaking news strap comes up during a report or other segment, no sting. I can see why, you'd have people complaining that reports and other features are being ruined by globes and orange/red graphics flying over the screen.
