I hear that the only 'newsroom tweak' while the programmes are coming from Millbank at Christmas is that that painters are coming in.

Hardly much room for excitement there, although I suppose someone will start a poll on: What colour do you think Sky News should paint their walls?

Purple. Or neon green. That would get the forum buzzing.

I think they should paint it purple. How about Red? (fit in then when they do breaking news on the newswall and introduce some new sirens and those flashy things you see on top of police cars to go off with it). Or maybe they can just paint it in a different shade of blue, desk and all.

Like I said, I'm expecting Westminster style, so blue and red everywhere.

Shame they are only going to be doing painting, though. Would like to see some of those snazzy backlit Sky News logos around the place and above the desk.

Reckon they could replace the wood with blue/red panelling, then do blue and red all over the newsroom. Might be a bit of a strain on the eyes, though.

While we are talking about re-launches, is SKYone getting a new look. The brochure for Xmas this year features red and blue with no orange in sight. Also the trailer for the upcoming Nip/Tuck program is a departure from the normal style.

If so, will we be having an orange xmas, and the new look in January.

Why? What's wrong with SKYone and SKYnews - that's how they're written on the channel. Like itv1!

The logos may say itv1 and SKYnews, but that's not what the channels are called.

Look at any material put out by the channels in question and in normal text the names are ITV1 and Sky News respectively.

It's like insisting on writing BBC News 24 as:

[code:1:b7302c84d9] BBC
NEWS 24[/code:1:b7302c84d9]

Now does anyone know if SKYone is due for a re-launch, and is the red and blue used in the winter brochure an indication of the new style along with the Nip/Tuck trailer...

Not me, but obviously Sir Richard Rotcod does!

I reckon they should do exactly what they've done with the Westminster newsroom - bright white walls with a splash of red and blue here and there. I think it'd really give the channel the fresh, clean look it needs.
