Calendar put the Christmas deccys up tonight, very nice. How will Look North compete with this fine display ?

I wonder will Look North Hull have a christmas tree. If they do they'll probably have to go down to a single headed bulletin!

I love it! It's wonderful! Very Happy I wish I could say the same about the "New Look Look North". What a let down. Just a awful sofa. Was it must me or are the background rings a different colour??!

Erm, the background's gone from china red to mustard yellow too.....

I'm sure Look North will provide more than just a tree for their decorations.....

I wouldn't bet on it, certainly not in Hull !!! There just wouldn't be the room.

With the way they're getting 'pally', Helen and Peter could hang some mistletoe above their heads....

Is it just me, or are the signatures of some posters now taking up several times more vertical space than the content of their posting?

Should Look North or Calendar do a feature on this, and which reporter would be most appropriate?

Well this Leeds United programme is being made on a limited budget I see, and I thought some YTV regional programmes often looked cheap!

Ian "I hope you liked our slight new look!" White did the continuity.

I notice this is a simulcast on BBC Radio Leeds!

I assume Manchester are running the show this week, as its all gone pear shaped with boring networked trailers being used

Pictures of Calendar Christmas look good, but notice, however no Christmas Eve edition this year.

As for the 'Leeds on Trial' programme, it was just dire. Made on a budget of £1.50 in the local pub with about five members of the audience from the local to make up the numbers. I switched off after two minutes. I could bang on about justifying the licence fee, but I won't.

Just for the record, it was nice to see Katherine give some criticism to Look North (Hull and maybe Lincolnshire - if we can be bothered), now how about actualy watching Calendar and seeing what a superior programme it is! Anyways, Katherine, seeing you live so far South, why the affection for Look North? Have you been a student in the broad acres?

I know the reason why Peter, Paul and Helen didn't go to Lincoln Christmas Market now, and it's forgivable. I've heard that they were unable to send their only satellite truck to the event. I suppose that given their acquisition of more extensive resources upon the opening of Queen's Gardens sometime next year this will not be a problem in future years.

As for Calendar, I can't get the programme on Sky. I was defaulted to Central News West on channel 103 (Central East isn't on Sky) as we're technically East Midlands. My second choice further down the EPG is Anglia West, as it is for the television in the living room. I'm not sure about 'so far south', we live only 26 miles from the Belmont transmitter and that's the main TX that Look North Hull is broadcast from. It's the strongest receivable analogue signal from Boston (Sandy Heath being next strongest). I have lived in Boston since 1981.

Although we can obviously get Calendar on analogue, I personally never bothered to tune the channel into my television as I don't watch ITV anyway. I have other issues with ITV outside Calendar's rivalry that are related to their Formula one coverage too. Despite my criticism of it, I would never be disloyal to Look North (or indeed the BBC) and start watching their rival.
