Hello,

does anyone have the ending for the BBC World where the "globe" DOG dissapears at the end of the news? and the breaking news too, somehow it doesn't work on my RP8.

Surprised that they haven’t reworked the adverts in between with the new News 24 logo.

It just seems that the forgot about them.

No change to Business Today then..

those projected screens seem to wash out further as time goes on, they'll vanish soon.

Don't like the juxtaposition between the N24 and NYC Studio, looks messy

Yep - here you go! I captured this a little earlier when Keshini Navaratnam was presenting.

I've just managed to finish trawling through this thread, and have only seen the new look for myself on News 24.

The new look is quite good in my opinion, but I really cannot stand the new DOG and clock. It is way too "ITV News". As mentioned earlier, I'd rather see a one liner in the top left hand corner or no DOG at all.

Did anyone catch this by the way, just before 0500 this morning (no I was not up to see it live, but it was recorded) but it was an early preview of the new countdown...well sort of. It was a mish-mash of the old music with the new countdown. A faux pas on the part of the BBC? Wink

Bit bizarre but nevertheless, here it is...

Hello everybody,

Actually, I've got two questions:

1. What does DOG mean? I'm a foreigner, so I don't know (is that a good reason).

2. In some posts people give their opinion about BBC World. But, I thought BBC World is not te be received in the United Kingdom?

Thanks anyway, and NEWS 24 looks great! Wish we had something like that over here in The Netherlands...

Digital On-screen Graphic I believe?

Legally no, but there are ways to receive it. There is a page on the FAQ about this I think...

EDIT: "Sigh, the FAQ section is being updated in order to blah, blah..." Sorry, someone with better understanding (and BBC World) might explain it to you...

EDIT 2: Someone like Adam, Smile

Some people have large satellite dishes pointed at satellites that carry World (either unencrypted or encrypted but with some nice software that unencrypts it Smile)

1. Digital Onscreen Graphic

2. Correct, BBC World is not to be received, though people can get a good idea of the style in The World Today, shown as part of BBC World/News 24's overnight simulcast. And the idents/presentation can be seen here of course.
It's also possible to recieve BBC World if you use an old Satellite Reciever and point it to Hotbird.

That is odd - the music was not even in time with it. Still thanks very much for sharing !

Anyone else think Peter Dobbie should have a more daytime / primetime slot? And possibly a partner to banter with?
