I e-mailed my comments to BBC News 24 about saying that I liked their re-launch and they e-mailed me back saying

"Most of the feedback has been very positive so we feel we have got the look just right."

I think they have.

I think I just answered my question about BBC World by having a look at one of Roland's files ... this still would seem to indicate that they at least have new breakbumpers. I would imagine that since nobody has mentioned it, the idents are still the same. But is a similarly-branded relaunch for World that far off?

Would still be wrong! The globe is so subtle, I doubt most people would notice it, but it is a bit embarrasing when the World's number 1 broadcaster doesn't know which way it spins!

Chris and Maxine don't seem as well rehearsed as Phil & Anna did, but I suppose as they were the first they practised more!

It's a shame it's such a rubbish main news story today. Seems like BBC Parade 24!

Hmm, a report from the "North of England Correspondent" - is that new? Part of them trying to be more local?

Just found out, that you can get the new countdown in the member's area of David Lowe's website.

Edit: The page has been updated just a minute ago, now the opening titles are also available.

Mixed reactions to be honest.

The new set is better and it all looks a bit smoother. Even though the interaction is still minimal, there is a bit more banter and people moving about. At least the sport is back in the studio and the odd weather report is live.

The graphics are much better but still dodgy. no need for the HUGE version of the report title they keep using. The smaller one is much better. Noticed the globe was going the wrong way and the text needs smoothing a bit as well.

Few things that will probably be smoothed out after a while. But generally much better. Not sure about the titles though. The globe moves to where the headline is concerned so should be interesting to see how it changes according to the headline.

Plus they handled the parade very well - more interaction with people and more informal. About time! Usually prefer Sky's presentation but must say that News 24 did it better this time round.

Lets see if they can keep it up.

I liked the looks of the breaking news strap on it's own...

When I log in to the member's area - it says I've successfully logged in, but then when I click to carry on, it just goes back to the log in/password form again.

What am I missing ?
