Well it seems that the BBC has broke every single breaking story this morning FIRST... when I turned to SKY, they just had footage from the tackily named 'Bus Cam'...

They have got round the risk of looking stupid by reporting incorrect info by attributing the story to the source i.e. REUTERS: bla bla bla...

I know they used to do this but I also knew that Sky were supposed to be ahead... and today they are way behind.

There was a certain class and grace to the previous titles, which just isn't matched in this new set.

Very true.

Oh the 1 o'clock news (on BBC 1) is using the old idents, and the background has those 3 ovals (one in each section). I was looking forward to seeing some new idents.

No new Opening titles to BBC One News but the background has slightly changed (it's the one that was used on saturday).

I'm reminded of the delays in ITV's presentation being added to your site, and my claims of a slant towards the BBC being rubbished...

I think that Sky have been showing the England parade and not concentrating on lesser stories this morning. Sky News Active would im sure have some of these other stories on there breaking news service.

I've lost all hope... I'm going to prey that may be they would change it for the Six. But we know that's not going to happen.

Well, I must say I'm rather impressed by today's relaunch. I'm especially pleased with the way News 24 and World are virtually identical now - that will make joint brodcasts a lot easier and look more seamless. The music is very good (World's TOTH vamp is very punchy, and I'm glad they've gone back to the more simplistic thunderclaps), I'm warming to the new astons - I very much like the animations; a very good decision IMO. News 24's studio is amazing, but I still think World's suits the new look. I also like the way on screen text has been shortened - it seems to give it more urgency than a long winded sentence.

However, I'm not too keen on News 24's ticker. Apart from it being blue, I think it is far too small. If they're going to have one, they may as well make it legible! My other criticism is the massive breaking news aston - totally unnessecary IMO. I haven't seen the explosion yet, but I suppose they do their job of catching attention, but it could be slightly smaller!

Suffering from selective memory??

I think we've had this conversation before. However - I will remind you that the delay in covering ITV 1's latest relaunch was due to illness.

It's not like an explosion... see the BREAKING NEWS animation here (from The TV Room)...

I LOVE IT... It looks very 'American' I think...
