Quite - it would say:

dead at Buckingham Palace

No it wouldn't.. sounds like the Queens dead body has just been 'found', 'stumbled across'...

More like...

The Queen is Dead...

then...

HM The Queen died peacefully in her sleep

Can I just say...

The Queen is dead... long live the King Singers!

I can imagine a two-line stap becoming available for major news - we've already seen that the big strapline can shrink up and down - so potenially 2 lines of text are available. I'd say it would be something like:

ROYAL DEATH
HRH Elizabeth II has been found
dead at Buckingham Palace.

Somehow a Royal death would not occur like that, especially if it was the Queeny!

Confused Shocked

Why the hell not? She doesn't have a guard in her bed you know.

(Another royal might though...)

I was refering to the reporting of the death, if you look at the previous qoute made by someone.

Of course the queen could be found dead, but i was talking about the reporting of it.

I'd imagine it be more sombre, like this

Her Majesty the Queen has Died

Anyway, the presentation would be completly different in these cicumstances. I think you have to remember from what was done when the 'Gran' died.

Titles and everything would be exactly the same as that. As it would broadcast accross all of the BBC's services

They do like their theme park rides in the new countdown don't they?

Ok this is very sad but...
Nemesis at 41s, Big One (Blackpool) at 42s, Enterprise (the spinning-round one at Alton Towers) with Oblivion track behind it at 26s and again at 18s with Submission in foreground, Air (Alton Towers again) at 15.

Edit : oh yes and Nemesis again at 2s.

News 24 is dead.

10am hour is practically identical to 9am hour.

They are even replaying live interviews from 9am. Why not do them live again?

Deary me.

Ahh, you watched it back then! I knew Nemesis was on there and sure it made a reappearance at 2 seconds before 10:00.

Right this time I am really going to bed... Twisted Evil

How would I be able to criticise it if I didn't watch it?

I'm still holding out hope of seeing some actual content changes rather than presentation.

just listened to the countdown titles and main titles and see all the pics you guys posted... can't wait to get home and see it for real. The countdown is thankfully faithful to the previous one, and both the main titles and coundown sounds similar to the regions... i am impressed...

Disappointed with the massive breaking news strap - far too big and looks tacky - hopefully this will evolve into something more palatable.

The studio looks amazing, and generally the astons are cool. The titles also look pretty good and am lookin forward to seeing the images "reflecting British life" during the countdown.

jonnybegood - thanks for the info on martine croxall... now i know where she's been hiding!
