55 sec countdown...

Ahhh, menu on the countdown... very nice. Was wondering if that was why the strap went in at 03. Also to note: Subtitles on the countdown, and new press red prompt on Sky.

Longer countdown. Subtitles. Menu, albeit for 22:00-23:30... surely one for now would be more appropriate unless they want to promote evening programmes in which case they should take out the BBC News - we know that's on every hour!

Was that an Alton Towers ride I saw? Shocked

Ooh, they must have heard me, the DSat 'Press Red' has changed. Smaller now, and lower case. Matches the astons. Woo!!

I'm sorry, but sod the flashy graphics. Where's the "new approach in providing news" which was the whole purpose of this relaunch?

Oh yes, a nice new countdown, and a bit of text flying round a new logo, but that's hardly the point is it? The same old dull faces are still there which in my opinion is the source of the problem.

Flicking back and forth between News 24 and Sky News, I can tell you the bottom of the News 24 clock lines up exactly with the top of the Sky News ticker.

I have already said it, and will say again - give the channel at least 24 hours before making a judgement on its overall content.

I WISH that poxy parade didn't happen today...

It would be nice to see how they'd (N24) react to REAL news...

Saw Breaking news aston... wheres the full screen one?

Same as the other large text ones

Well I've watched it for an hour, and the 10AM hour looks identical to the 9AM hour. I'm turning off now and wondering why I actually got up to see this.

One final though though, I do like the new countdown with it's increased levels of bass and reverb (it gives it a nice warm and slightly 'muddy' feel which I always think works well, but the cut from the countdown to the headline bed then destroys the effectiveness - the crash of cymals is the same clean high version they used before. They really need to add something to it because at the moment the countdown and headline bed sound totally out of place.

It was indeed. 'The Enterprise' IIRC. But note how they didn't choose a distinctive ride like Oblivion. Clever Smile
