Why have two presenters though if they are not going to talk (have they even acknowledged the existance of each other yet?)? The whole reason for that is that they can talk to each other to make the channel feel more comfortable and less the voice of authority. And on slow news days (which this is) that can come into it's own to keep people watching your channel.
When News 24 came from Millbank for half a day it all felt more real and there was more chemistry between the presenters, indeed if I have to choose between old look, new look, and temporary rushed emergency service from makeshift Millbank studios, I'd say Millbank wins hands down. A bit rough round the edges because of it's makeshift nature, but with just a bit of polishing up News 24 could look really good from there.
Indeed is it only me that thinks it's a good idea not to have everything in TVC? It's very putting all your eggs in one basket. It would seem a good idea to have News 24 (or at least World) sited remotely from the national news, so that if one building goes t*ts up, there is at least one working BBC Television News facility left running.

Don't think it's a News 24 special - think it's a BBC Events programme
That's not what the nice lady called Natasha.. said... she said you can see the victory parade live with BBC News 24 here on BBC one from 11.30
EDIT : erm, ok may have been wrong, just looked at BroadcastNow online, and it say's it's presented by John Inverdale.

You can watch News 24, at 11.30 on BBC One for a BBC News Special.
Though granted you will have to put with the victory parade coverage...

cwathen - You're telling me they have 2 presenters so they don't sound like "the voice of authority"???
Variety of who delivers the story - sure, an easier job than doing an hour by yourself - sure... but to reduce authority is probably NOT the reason!
(By the way.. the start of the sig looks & sounds like it represents a bomb going off! That'll be fun when all the headlines are dominated by such a story

Hence Sky News being named 'Early Learning Centre'. Look at ITV News, only one presenter there, but even when they do a link-up to a location, it's a case of 'give us the news quickly, please'. Better that way imo.

I know everyone is looking at elements and saying they're copied from Sky, but it is difficult for N24 been second in the race and trying to catchup... in one breath, everyone is sayingf that N24 isn't as snazzy, fast-paced and energetic as Sky, and then they moan that they want more analysis (which is quite the opposite to fast paced news delivery)...
You can't have both. N24 IS more energetic and if they've borrowed presentation elements from elsewhere (I'm sorry, I didn't know plugging Interactive services was patented to Sky)... then so be it.
Hopefully, as thje day goes on, and with the new analytical features they'll have on, they'll be fast paced but at the same time, be noticeably different to Sky News.
And a note about the reports... BBC News has a authoritative standard to keep up to in their reports (as they're used on all of their output i.e, World, Nationals etc)... hence, are not going to be able to casualise them, make them less authortative and more jazzy... that is just the BBC way of reporting, so as that makes the majority of what we've seen, you won't notice a great difference at this time just 3/4 hour after the relaunch.

Wake me up when something interesting comes on.
I prefer the set when the power failed last week - much more involving. And what's with all this world news? Headlined please, not in-depth analysis! And (as someone said) why have they deliberately done away with the chat between presenters? That was the one good thing about the old N24, and is one of the main distinctions between N24 and SKY. Trisha's looking more and more appealing...

cwathen I agree with you quite wholeheartedly.
News 24 is a bit dandified, but it is impressive (boring old Aunty seems to be getting her groove on a bit).
I want to see if they use this stuff on the Nationals. And I think we might as well give it the benefit of the doubt...maybe when something earth shattering happens, we'll see a more tag-team news presentation style with a more spontaneous use of all of their facilities.
But, hey, it's a decent start for a Monday morning when a parade is the top story.
I do wonder, though, how long the presenters will agree with this stand-up, sit-down, over-here, back-there, sit-down, stand-up, sit-down, wave-goodbye, repeat every 30 mintues format.

I really love the astons. It's just such a shame the opening titles look a bit naff, lol.

Although the sting shown at half past was lovely. Caps a few pages back. Nice sport round-up.
