But shouldn't they be? The primary motivation for this relaunch (and I can't say i've seen anything yet to justify calling it that) was that it had become too plodding and dull. Therefore, this magical new format that they've spent months developing should be immediately obvious and hit us like a brick - after all they've hyped this up we shouldn't have to be analysing it over a period of days to try and find subtle changes, the changes should be glaringly obvious
Remember also that although it's only gone live today, the new look came into use last week when it was piloted, any tweaks should allready have largely been made - what we are seeing is almost certainly pretty much how it is going to stay.

Give it a day at least before commenting on the editoral changes, unlike the graphics music and set, these are not always obvious at first glance.

Well, given that they have spent a fortune and months on it, you would've hoped that the main problem of the channel - i.e. its painful dullness - would be the most obvious change they could make.
As it is, I haven't actually seen the presenters speak to each other.
And "impact with taste"? Erm, no.
I like the set, despite the fact it's smaller, but bloody hell it's dull.
Look at Sky - they're in a special studio at Trafalgar Square with Jeremy Thompson.

Don't forget those who do not have NEWS 24 (LIKE ME ...
)
You can watch News 24, at 11.30 on BBC One for a BBC News Special.
Though granted you will have to put with the victory parade coverage...

The musical ending on World was very much like the BBC Regional ends.
The Dynamic Junction music still doesn't really fit with anything around it! I'll never understand why it was built in that musical key!! (Also it doesn't work for about half of the time)
Into Extra Time now - the intro ident was a reworking of the old style - and the DOG is TRANSPARENT now - hoorah!!!!!

I must say that they've done this in an incredibly low key way. Their other news output normally gets trailers before a relaunch, and is acknowledged on air at the beginning and end of programmes for the first day.
I must say I have noticed too that they haven't acknowledged this at all - but then I don't think they did in 1999 either.

There's been absolutely no reference to this new look from any presenters before or after... is it just me that finds this a little strange?

The glass behind the presenter annoys me, it looks steamed up, is she stood in a shower cubicle or something ?
