I don't believe mid Wales actually exists, I mean -- have you been there? Has anyone been there?

I HAVE been there, actually. I went to that same resovoir on a school trip, back in nineteen hundred and frozen to death.

Mid-Wales is essentially a very large mountain with South Wales below it, West Wales to the left and North Wales above it!

I wonder if Branfield will be presenting the weekend bulletins?

Owan, I see this new reporter/newsreader, Tara Branfield last night on the late HTV News - she is rather good isnt she, she seemed kind of familiar too, it will come to me eventually where ive seen here before Wink Laughing

I also saw Sally read the 7.05am bulletin this morning but noticed she said there would be no 8.05am bulletin due to half term and kiddies progs Rolling Eyes I also noticed they had Andrew Jones reporting on the 6pm prog tonight, he is really good at reporting actually, I think he missed his calling, they should make him do reporting all the time instead of having his rather gloomy face on GMTV/lunch bulletins 3 days a week.

Looks like Lucy is taking her shoe shopping day off today, to be fair she did a report on Sunday and then presented HTV News at 6pm Mon-Thurs as well as late bulletin on Tuesday night so she is entitled to have a day off to do as she likes Laughing - and the last few weeks she had done HTV News at 6, 5 days a week!

As for the weekend presenter, well it cant possibly be yet another Juliet weekend - my money is on Justina, Carole Green or maybe Richard Morgan

Who on earth gave that woman the announcer's job on BBC One Wales? She sounds as if she records each syllable individually and a computer joins them together.

Mid Wales definatly exists as I live there. Mid Wales is basically an empty part of Wales with Aberystwyth on the edge as there isn't really an 'West Wales'.

The BBC Mid Wales site covers Ceredigion (southern ceredigion being an overlap with South West Wales) & Powys.

Yes Jez - im surprised no-one else has mentioned Ms Branflake on here!

Tasty tasty, very very tasty, she's very tasty.

I'm glad to see that you are coming round to beginning to admire and like Andrew Jones. I still think he reports and presents adequately but would have liked him to have ended today's Hallowe'en report by putting on one of those masks behind him - the report was begging for it!

Also nice to see Zoe Tape reporting on the ITV News Channel again....shame after all this time they still havent got her name correct

Well I much prefer Andrew when he is away from the news desk, he was really excellent with his reporting today. Maybe its the fact its early in the morning and thats why he is so grumpy on GMTV bulletins. Sally is always very good on GMTV bulletins but seems to only work 2 days a week which is a shame. Justina was also a very good GMTV presenter but she does reporting now mainly.

I think a good rota for GMTV/lunchtime bulletins would be Richard Morgan doing 1 day, Justina doing 1 day and Sally on 3 days (Wed-Fri) - that would be much better than Mr grumpy on 3 days a week!!!

Yes nice that Zoe reported for the news channel, but honestly you'd think they would get her name right, who do they think she is? A vet from Emmerdale Rolling Eyes Laughing

Juliette announced that Stuart Mcteer will be the weekend news presenter.

Also worthy of noting is that at last we now know what the H stands for in HTV News - HELIUM!

Heath Jeffries was reporting on the Ikea shop in Cardiff and it was playing at a speed which was the equivalent of playing a 33 record at 45 on the turntable! The picture seemed to go funny and the helium-type voices was very amusing!

Juliette did apologise for the picture disturbance mind!

I'm not sure who you're talking about, there are a few new-ish female voices there. The thing is, the BBC look for technical skills over a nice voice for the channel directing job.

Count yourself lucky that you have some variety of voices on BBC One Wales. If you are satanic or unfortunate enough to stumble upon BBC One, you will nearly always get Phil Vowles in the evening. Why is this man on CONSTANTLY? Does he not have a home, a life or even a wife? Or maybe he just needs the money?

I disagree entirely. Of course there is a "West Wales" -- where are Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire then? They're not in south Wales, any more than Cornwall is in the "south of England". South West is as far as I'll let you have.

In my opinion, you've got

South Wales -- Monmouthshire across through Cardiff, the valleys to Neath Port Talbot and as far north as Brecon
North Wales -- Flintshire across the top to Gwynedd and Anglesey
Mid Wales -- Powys
West Wales -- Pembs, Carms, County of Swansea [Swansea is meant to be the capital of "West Wales"], and Ceredigion [including Aberystwyth]

There is no such thing as "East Wales" though, I've only heard one person ever say that -- on a national weather bulletin. It doesn't even sound right, "East Wales".. I was only joking/being flippant about mid Wales not existing, btw.

The "Moira Stuart on acid" woman, as I remember you so delightfully calling her, is becoming a bit of a cult figure to me now in the mornings, she makes me laugh everytime I hear her, as I seldom understand a word she says. Her accent is so strong, and so very DEEP. But she sounds like she enjoys herself, which is the main thing.

From what I've heard of Scotland and NI, they're quite chirpy and friendly, but Wales does seem the best of the four continuity centres in overall feel -- though I do like some on Network.

And anyway, are you going to say how you got speaking with Lucy, little miss secrets?
