Whatever did happen to Richard Uridge? I remember David Davies' leaving and news of his next move, but Richard Uridge just disappeared. Great to see Bernie back though.

Is the Alan Towers reapperance covered earlier in this thread? Anyone know the page number off-by-heart? Smile

It's on page 74, about half way down. It's only a picture though.

Sorry, back to Central for a mo...
The new CSO isnt bad me thinks. I dont like just the presenter in shot, I did like the inset of 'Central News' from the CSO before. Also the background looks stupid. You can only see a bit of the yellow circle thing on the left when the camera has the presenter and screen in shot. The ticker tape is a good idea, but its never in view long enough to be able to catch all of the address (for those who dont know it) or email. And the font is bad. However, the new CSO does fit more with the titles.

OMG!!! I have just called my supervisor at work to say I'm having Saturday off. I really think we should make sure Kay has a good audience to play to. Would anyone be up for purchasing tickets for a coach trip there?

oh yes - i think we owe it to kay to commute to her spectacular event causing the minimum of congestion - after all - hassle free transportation is the kay dream.

so we have booked a private hire wumpty bus (we can all pretend to be suzy flying around on her magic travel card in the old wmt adverts) to transport us all there. the bus hire will be £95 - with 75 passengers (so book promptly to avoid disappointment) - which works out at £1.27 per person - but the tickets will retail at £1.50 and will include tea/coffee and biscuit on the return journey.

PM james ison or myself with ticket reservations - monies will be collected on the day. we will pick up from outside toys r us at the far end of corporation st in birmingham and depart at 09.45 exactly.

Oh my goodness!

I've just seen a "BBC Resources/BBC Midlands Today" OB truck (satellite on roof) pass me on the main road near my home! Cool

The MT logos on it were the old blue/red/yellow "map" ones though! Rolling Eyes

I live in Bedworth (small town in north Warwickshire, just outside Coventry city limits. Part of a borough, the main town being neighbouring Nuneaton, also includes the village of Bulkington). Can something exciting possibly be happening in my borough?

Where the Exhall area of Bedworth touches the Longford area of Coventry, there is an M6 exit (junction 3 I think), it must've come from there. It was heading in a towards-Bedworth-town-centre kind of direction, along the B4113 (Coventry Road). I can't wait to see tonight's MT! Smile

Surprised noone's mentioned Shefali's honourary degree/doctorate yet!

Bernadette Kearney's been sitting in for Franksy on WM Drivetime this week as well.

Little cock-up on the 10pm ident(midlands) last night.

Skateboarders ident as normal, 4 seconds in someone started the headline bed for Midlands Today for 2 seconds. Then they played "This Is" then cut to "This Is BBC One in the midlands, blah, blah"

Shefali & Ashley were live at Pype Hayes Park in Brum to cover the bonfire, while someone had a play with the CSO, to make us believe Nick & Suzanne were on Concorde, to tie in with a report by Lindsey Doyle about the possible sale of Concorde seats.

Doolan's column in the Evening Mail, has him 'questioning why' when his missus rang the police, to report a shoplifter, she was asked questions like ' Are you white English ?'.

(I know, crazy, isn't it !)

Waddo & Julie are off again this week, with 'me Daz Hale' in the chair on the WM Late Show.

Seasoned WM listeners like yours truly will have noted the legendary John Platt doing some of the drivetime sports bulletins too.

When you say CSO, do you mean the 'window', or the weather screen? I'd popped out of the room during most of the programe, and so missed it. Also, was there a young reporter report tonight?
