I've thought, would Saturday Kitchen moving to ITV as Saturday Cooks count? As it was the case that ITV poached the show, but not the name. So Saturday Kitchen on the BBC was basically an entirely new show with a different host, production company and team whereas Saturday Cooks was basically Saturday Kitchen with a different name.

Well, sorta, considering that BBC One continues to air new episodes of Kitchen and Cooks ended in 2010.

Though the point I was making is that Saturday Cooks was effectively Saturday Kitchen under a new name, as the presenters, crew, production company etc. all moved over to ITV - they poached everything but the name, so while Saturday Kitchen is still airing, the post-2006 version is effectively an entirely different show to the pre-2006 one, just with the same name.

Obviously Saturday Cooks (and all the other variants) flopped as badly as poaching Adrian & Christine to present Daybreak did a few years later.

What about Saturday Morning with James Martin?

Isn’t that different as it’s just the person who moved over to create a different programme involving cooking on a similar time of the day. I think he has some involvement with the production of his ITV series and pre records it at his house compared to hosting the live Cactus produced show every Saturday on the BBC.

Fair enough and my apologies on that.

BBC Wales had an early 2000s music show 'The Pop Factory' which oddly moved over to HTV Wales

That reminds me of Rugby League Raw (which covered the lower leagues below Superleague). Started on Yorkshire in 2000 and moved to BBC (Yorkshire/Yorkshire and Lincolnshire/North West/North East) in 2004

Traffic Cops moved from BBC One to Channel 5.

Actually, it moved from BBC One to BBC Three for one season in 2016 before moving to Channel 5 after BBC Three went online.

It was independently produced by Avanti which owned The Pop Factory complex in Porth.

Funnily enough there have been a few clips from that series on the recent St David's Day and St Patrick's Day at the BBC compilations on BBC4.

As you say, as the production company own the venue, that's seemingly an example of them making the series themselves and then offering it around the broadcasters. It's like the music series Live From Abbey Road, that was first shown on C4 and I think later runs were on other channels, I think Sky Arts, but the series was made independently by Abbey Road Studios themselves and they then sold it on to the broadcasters, rather than being commissioned by any broadcaster to make it. It's the same with the Classic Albums series, that's been on a few channels - it started on the Beeb and the most recent episodes have been on there as well, but there have also been episodes on ITV, and again that's because the production company make it without a broadcaster attached and sell it on when it's made.

A lot of the specials you see on TV like Gary Barlow's Night at the Museum and the McFly doc on ITV were paid for by the artist/band's record label so even if it doesn't rate, it's no skin off the nose of the broadcaster.
