GMB | Patsy Palmer “Walk-off”

You are right, his ego shone through there in that final sentence he made before leaving. He really felt GMB was his show. The arrogance is breathtaking but not surprising, as Ian Hislop used to say about Piers, his ego was enormous. He said he had a very thin skin, and added it was the only thing thin about Piers.

Now this Patsy thread has turned into more Piers bashing, despite him not even working for GMB when Patsy (briefly) appeared.
There's already a thread for discussion about him called 'Piers Morgan to leave GMB'.

I'll bring things back to Patsy... I think what she did was tacky and unprofessional. She's gone right down in my estimation.

I wonder if it would have been better for Patsy to ask them to remove the graphic and then continue with the interview. However, she probably thought they were going to move on to try to talk about her addiction at some point during the interview, seeing as they'd already got reference to it lined up on the graphics.
Personally, I still think it's a trashy production and the programme is a mess.

Reports today that there was a crisis meeting with the production staff on Thursday.

A crisis meeting or just a regular production meeting that you’d assume they have often?

I think it was more tacky and unprofessional to use the headline 'Patsy Palmer: Addict to Wellness Guru' in the first place.

One day there might be less stigma around addiction and it won’t matter. Not there yet though. Clearly this offended a number of people, so they do need to be more careful around such subjects.

I'm not condoning the phrase that was used at all, and she had every right to be offended by it. What I'm disappointed with was how she referenced "doing a Piers". It was totally unnecessary. She could have said her thoughts on it and cut the interview there.

Even when the camera switched to her, you could tell she didn't want to be there before she noticed the text. She just wouldn't engage with Ben or Susanna and quite frankly, it was painful from start to finish.

Put it this way, she got more headlines for walking out on them and ‘doing a Piers’ than she would have had she just sat there and did the interview. No idea what she was meant to be promoting but she’s certainly caught tabloid and social media attention.

They promoted Patsy’s interview at the start of the programme in the opening titles/headlines. They showed an old Eastenders clip of Barbara Windsor with Ben Shepherd talking over it:
"... And Patsy Palmer tells us she was devastated by the death of Dame Barbara Windsor and if Bianca Jackson might be making a return to the square."

So apparently she was on to discuss Barbara Windsor (and to explain about her 'wellness' business projects in California - thus revealing the answer to their teaser that she won't be returning to Eastenders).

But they asked her about Meghan and Harry - which she didn't want to get involved in - and brought up the drug addiction that she had 20 years ago - that she publically addressed at the time and has long recovered from...
