BBC News 24 'Flags' - I still miss them:

Indeed. Also, the BBC World score was utterly majestic and magnificent and I only wish I had a high quality copy of the music:

BBC newsreaders and reporters (either in-studio or on location) referring to each other by name when having a live conversation.

I'm certain that didn't happen before the pips and beeps.

Nice find, bilky. I stand corrected on the recollection of when it happened.

But, that aside, there was a time when it didn't happen and I wish it didn't now.

Talking of TVF highlights, remember the time someone went through the News 24 ident variations and transcribed the flags?

What a saddo.

Yesterday I had a piece of cheese and it was very good.

Shock horror time.

TSW deserved the chop here in the South West. Not least for the dreadful seasonal idents which started the whole flipping idea.

In fact, I'd say we'd have been better served by HTV post 1992 compared to Westcountry.

And can someone please please tell Andi Peters to grow the hell up. He's not on Live and Kicking anymore. You're on a breakfast show flogging a competition. Does my head in every morning.

No, Johnnyboy, you're right, it's really annoying, and seems to be another 21st Century thing

Johnnyboy.....

Maybe but it helps with cueing if the gallery is particularly busy in a presenter's earpiece. The US style 'thanks for joining us' to their own reporters though can be a bit OTT for me considering their newsroom set the stuff up in the first place. I've also noticed a few sideways looks even on 'Court TV' when reporters are asked about their assessment of evidence to jurors which does not sit well with me.

Can't stand Channel 5's output but I loved the original Channel 5 News theme at launch.

I've never watched GMTV/Daybreak/GMB. (Sorry Erron).

A SOT has no place on a headline sequence IMO. Headlines over 60 seconds annoy me.

There's that one BBC CA that sounds like he's on Cbeebies and has diction unlike any real human (I love Duncan Newmarch and Peter Offer mind you!).

I don't see a bright future for linear television in general.

I prefer Ben Shephard over Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain.

Sky Atlantic's launch idents are some of the finest I've seen and haven't gotten enough credit:

I totally agree with this; particularly the one with the diner/restaurant (where the reflection/refraction in the glasses of the foreground show the parallel scene!
