When the slight graphics refresh finally comes, what show are they most likely to debut on?

There have also been package refreshes launch at 9 or 10pm before now on election nights in the past. Sure someone else can confirm?...

Accurate. The refresh 2015 occurred on a Thursday, 9pm as did the relaunch in 2010. They switched to the new standard package and away from the election one for Live at Five in 2010. The revamps in the years before: 2005, 7, 8 and 9 started with the first programme of the day, whereas the refresh in April 2008 also appeared to have happened on a Thursday.

Great roundup - After a bit of digging on YouTube, I've managed to find a video of the changeover in 2010 and it was indeed the election night at 9pm. It also seems that the video was uploaded by our very own VMPhil so it is only right I credit him here.

Sky really do excel when it comes to these big events like elections etc. Just a shame they've toned down the rolling coverage in recent years. There was a time that anything remotely out of the ordinary would have Eamon, Kay or Jeremy T et al parachuted in to the relevant location to anchor live. These days, reporters on the phone is much more common.

Yes the changeover happened at 9pm because Sky News HD started at the same time as their election programme.

The last changes were at 7pm IIRC. Sure I remember the logo refresh debuted on Sky News Tonight with Dermot before the return to the glass box (following the 'improvements') with Anna at 9pm. There have also been package refreshes launch at 9 or 10pm before now on election nights in the past. Sure someone else can confirm?

While we are discussing the past, how about this throwback from the brilliant Steven & Gillian. Arguably the best double header they have and a real shame they aren't utilised more...

Still can't get over how good that real background shot is Very Happy

How did we go from that to what we have now? Rolling Eyes

Make sure Kay Burley and Beth Rigby don't share a cab after the party. We all know what happened last time(!)

No tweets from Kay Burley congratulating her colleagues. Seems a tad strange.

Of course if she did people would just say she was trying to look good or that she was making it all about her. She can’t win really.
