Absolutely. It used to feel like a show - now it feels like a few individual performances thrown together between some links and ads.
The new set has always felt smaller and two things I noticed tonight which I think add to that feeling is firstly how dark it is compared to the predominantly white sets of the earlier run, and secondly how it seems to lack any height - which I think is due to the super long video wall making it look far shorter than it actually is.
I still think Robin Cousins, Jason Gardiner, Nicky Slater, Karen Barber and another judge eg Emma Bunton, were a far superior judging team than what we have now. The old studio looked far superior in every way, in terms of size and appearance - additionally, showing the crowd which added to the atmosphere, rather than a gimmicky video wall. Plus, there were far more overhead shots or shots from the side & above which look a lot better than the floor set trundle cams and the cameraman on skates as of the present day.
So with Joe-Warren Plant back in the competition but Jason withdrawing, we are back in the same position we were last week. I would assume that if one more couple is forced to withdraw, another week will have to be chopped off
