The Seven is also on Fridays now too - thought differs from Saturday and Sunday in that it is a 30 minute edition.
Think it was originally done for football on Friday nights (unsure if that is new to BBC Scotland) but seems to be the case on all Fridays now.

This shot in particular looks really quite shoddy, for some reason it reminds me of a clapped out set from 1970s Doctor Who!
I've no knowledge at all of the BBC's operations in Scotland, but it does seem slightly maddening they have a Reporting Scotland program coming from a set that looks like it ought to have been binned a long time ago, and a 'Nine' program which is produced in a brand new building which looks excellent on screen. Could they not both just... make use of the expensive new facility?
The standing desk finally made its debut tonight. I’m not a huge fan of it I think the bigger screen that they were using at the start of the programme before today worked a bit better than the 3 individual ones used today.

They’ll be a whole host of corporate image/budget reasons why rep Scot looks like it does, and why the nine has a separate identity. They are after all on different channels.
Technically sharing is tricky. It’s not unheard of that the nine is rehearsing/pre-recing whilst rep Scot Is on. This is done through a much smaller gallery, they then move to the main gallery after 7

The RS set is in Studio C at BBC Pacific Quay, a building built specifically for BBC Scotland back in 2007.
They received a refreshed set in 2014 that took them from the old N6 style to the new NBH style. I believe the old N6 style was moved over from Queen Margaret Drive, BBC Scotland's old HQ.
The location of the set for The Nine was just an empty space in the atrium with the usual tables, sofas and chairs for 'collaboration', prior to the build.

I actually really liked that set and camera shots. Susan didn’t though as I remember her comments on her final programme stating she won’t miss perching on those chairs!

Each to there own, I think that’s absolutely horrid.. the drinks trolley desk is totally out of proportion, and that 3 shot is borderline illegal it’s that bad...
I always found it different at the time. The opening title music was brill.
