Still no word. Not even any rumours.
Any news on the UK plan - assuming it's a new artist. Surely this is the year to actually get a decent act to do it when they can't do anything else.

Looks like tomorrow (EDIT: no, today!) is the day we find out what Eurovision will look like this year.
A is certainly out of the question and probably B as well. I think they'll announce C and drop to D at a later date if necessary. I can imagine any audience that is there will be entirely local and will probably have free tickets given how heavily policed they'll have to be and it makes it easier to cancel them should they need to.
I think whatever scenario they go for Australia probably won't be performing in the Netherlands!
EDIT: They've announced it - pursuing B surprisingly but will potentially downsize as they go on: https://eurovision.tv/story/eurovision-2021-determined-yet-realistic-plans-for-may
The Dutch broadcaster will hold a press conference tomorrow (Wednesday) at 13:00 CET to reveal the hosting scenario for Eurovision 2021. pic.twitter.com/TnhAqMspFK

Melodifestivalen was a bit of a disaster tonight. Desperately trying to fill 90 minutes of airtime, with only 7 songs, is proving a problem for them. Those camera pans of the arena, and people waving balloons, sure take up a lot of time! Tonight’s show felt like a 3 hour marathon at times.

I used this for the first time this week and it's excellent. Definitely better than sitting through all the filler.
It's amazing how much the audience is important to the show, you really realise that watching it. They could do with cranking the fake applause and cheering up a little bit more, it's been really devoid of atmosphere so far, more so than other entertainment shows during Covid, including the Norwegian MGP. Also weirdly I actually think the show could have benefitted from being in a large arena, even if it was empty, to give it a bit more scale. The set feels so cramped compared to usual that they might as well be in a TV studio.
Ratings were good for week 1 though - up on 2020, I believe. I thought it was a shame they cut the songs from 8 to 7. But I tend to zap through the show on catchup in the semis - made really easy by their online player, which has markers for where all the songs are!

Surprised it’s not been mentioned but James Newman has been confirmed for the UK again. Song being unveiled next month but we’re promised something upbeat.
