Looking at Dan's tweet, he's already left talkRADIO.

As a presenter, Wootton is bloody awful. Clearly being wooden at talkRADIO can still get you a gig as long as your politics meets their editorial agenda.

I think a lot of people would argue that he isn't just awful as a presenter.

Confirmation, if needed, that this channel will be garbage.

I don’t like the politics or the personality Nigel Farage, but I’d sooner watch him than Dan Wootton who I just find unwatchable. It’s not just the fact he’s a right wing reactionary type that’s what we expect but it’s that he’s just utterly uninteresting.

Hopkins is awful but at least she’s interesting.

Wootton is just a horrible person, his attacks on the likes of Stacey Dooley on Strictly a few years back were just shocking and IIRC he was on Lorraine and started spouting and Christine Lampard put him in his place.

This is disappointing. Wootton is such a divisive character and this will no doubt put a lot of viewers off who might have otherwise given the channel a chance.

That is actually probably the silver lining.

A very disappointing hire. People have presumed a lot about GB News before it’s even launched, and this kind of hiring certainly won’t help perceptions.

Given that Andrew Neil is presumably involved in the recruitment process for on-air talent, I find it slightly baffling they’ve gone for Wootton, who, to put it mildly, is an extremely unpleasant individual, and a poor broadcaster overall.
