Sounds like CNN is trying to move back to more normal presenting then. Seems like a demotion for Jim Acosta but glad he stays at the network and congrats to Dana Bash and Abby Phillip who deserve some of their new roles.
Clearly based on what the press release says it appears that they are building up to Jake Tapper becoming Wolf's replacement when he feels like it's time to step down. If that's the case then he's an excellent choice and I am always impressed whenever he is on.

Quite a few schedule and presenter changes from CNN in the US:
The Lead With Jake Tapper will be extended. Abby Phillip will take over from John King presenting Inside Politics on Sunday. Dana Bash will co-anchor State Of The Union, alongside Jake Tapper.
CNN today announced new anchor roles for its Washington-based programs.
Beginning in April, Jake Tapper’s program The Lead with Jake Tapper will expand to 4-6 p.m. ET nightly. In addition, he will continue in his role on Sunday mornings, now co-anchoring State of the Union with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. He will also serve as the network’s lead anchor for all major Washington events.
Wolf Blitzer will continue to anchor the network’s signature evening newscast, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, now airing from 6-7 p.m. ET nightly. The program will be seen around the world, simulcast on the CNN US and CNN International networks. He will also have a principal anchor role for all major breaking news and continue to host CNN special reports.
Dana Bash has been named co-anchor of the network’s Sunday morning newsmaker show, now called State of the Union with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. Tapper and Bash will each anchor two Sundays a month, beginning January 24th. In addition, Bash will continue as the network’s chief political correspondent and will also host quarterly primetime interview specials.
Abby Phillip will become the anchor of Inside Politics Sunday with Abby Phillip, from 8-9 a.m. ET on Sundays, beginning January 24th. Phillip has also been named the network’s senior political correspondent.
John King will continue to host Inside Politics with John King weekdays from 12-1 p.m. ET. The network’s chief national correspondent, he will also continue to have a key role in all political coverage.
Jim Acosta has been named anchor and chief domestic correspondent for CNN. His anchoring duties will be on the weekends with more details coming soon.
Pamela Brown will become the anchor of CNN Newsroom on Saturdays and Sundays from 6-9 p.m. ET, beginning January 23rd. Brown will also serve as a senior Washington correspondent for CNN.
CNN has announced a number of new assignments for its White House and Congressional correspondents, timed to the start of President Biden’s Administration.
Kaitlan Collins has been named chief White House correspondent.
Phil Mattingly will become senior White House correspondent.
Arlette Saenz, Jeremy Diamond, John Harwood, MJ Lee and Kate Bennett will all be correspondents covering the White House. Kevin Liptak and Jasmine Wright will join them at the White House as reporters.
Jeff Zeleny has been named chief national affairs correspondent and will also cover the first year of the Biden White House.
Joe Johns will remain senior Washington correspondent and will shift his focus from the White House to a variety of Washington-related stories. Sunlen Serfaty will become Washington correspondent covering Washington at large. Suzanne Malveaux will continue in her role as national correspondent.
Manu Raju has been named CNN’s chief Congressional correspondent. He will be joined on Capitol Hill by correspondents Jessica Dean, Lauren Fox and Ryan Nobles. Daniella Diaz has been named a Capitol Hill reporter.
This is fantastic news for those getting promotions but does leave me wondering what will become of Ana Cabrera's weekend slots.
I'd really like to see the full daytime schedule firmed up with it having been very fluid for months. It appears Kate Bolduan will get her show back if John King is cut back to 1 hour. The only outstanding question is who will get 2 hours in the afternoon slot - Keilar or Baldwin?
Wolf Blitzer will continue to anchor the network’s signature evening newscast, The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, now airing from 6-7 p.m. ET nightly.
The program will be seen around the world, simulcast on the CNN US and CNN International networks.
Well that's ominous. Does this mean that Isa and Cyril will lose their programme?

Acosta's move is definitely not a demotion, he's been one of CNN's success stories during the Trump era and has regularly fronted The Situation Room. I think you're right about CNN moving towards some sort of normality if they are calling John King's show 'Inside Politics' once more - It's been 'Newsroom' since March.

Interesting that Jake Tapper's show is not mentioned as simulcast. Maybe CNNI will get that hour back ? But it's more probable that we'll get both hours of The Lead followed by Wolf and then the entire prime time line up, as it has been for a year now.
Keilar has been working on pushing out Baldwin for some time now. Wouldn't be surprised if she succeeds completely.
Kate Bouldan has been an afterthought for years, I doubt she'll be back in any sort of regular capacity.
Cabrera removed can only be good but if she's replaced with the attention seeker Acosta than it's as bad.
Abby Phillip is taking over the Sunday version of Inside Politics from the 24th January.
I'm so thrilled to be taking the reins of Inside Politics Sunday from my friend and colleague @JohnKingCNN starting on January 24th. Could not be more proud to be joining this incredible @CNN franchise! https://t.co/odlIvfxUiK
Based on this Tweet as well from Brian Stelter, Jake Tapper will be taking over from Wolf on Election coverage. That will be quite the change after years of Wolf doing it but as I said, it's well deserved and the best person to do it.
First: @JakeTapper becomes the network's "lead anchor for all major Washington events." Translating newsroom lingo: When it's time to project the winner of the 2024 presidential election, Tapper will break the news.
I really wish CNN International could air some of CNN Originals' programming library, or at least let them be acquired by HBO or HBO-affiliated movie channel.
Here in Southeast Asia, I only see two CNN Original shows that were acquired by Pay TV broadcasters:
Parts Unknown - aired on Discovery Channel and BBC Earth
The Movies - aired on Fox Movies
I believe one of the CNN Original documentaries aired on Norwegian broadcaster NRK. Weird though that the Philippine and Indonesian CNN affiliates don't air those.
Somebody asked on Hala's Instagram story a few days ago if Hala Gorani Tonight would be coming back at all. I think she replied that hopefully it is in a few weeks, but she said that the latest lockdown restrictions have made it difficult.
It's still all a very puzzling situation. If I were a CNNI talent, I'd be pushing my agent fast to get me out of there and onto another network that would actually put me on air. This can't be sustainable to pay a bunch of anchors (and other employees, of course) only to very rarely have them ever work and miss major news events in the last several months.
Very interesting to see the changes coming. I don’t think Fredricka and Ana (or at least, their slots) are going anywhere, they’ve been dividing weekend Newsroom into 3 chucks for the better part of the pandemic.
Very interesting that there is a major shift towards the the DC bureau now. I’d like to see them rethink how they block all of their shows when studio use comes back into fashion

If you watch BBC News, it is as if most of the programmes run relatively as normal. Are there restrictions that apply to CNN that do not apply to BBC? If so, which of those cases apply more to ITV and Sky News?

I think the hours allocated to NY and DC are relatively unchanged. Yet compare this to 10-15 years ago when the stars of the 19.00-22.00 block were the 'stars' of CNN: Cooper, Zahn, Brown, Larry King. Since the mid-2010s, one feels that the late afternoon/early evening presenters are leading the way: Tapper, Bash, Blitzer. Cooper and Burnett are now just like the warmup crew and Cuomo and Lemon are like the overnight guards.

Gosh, can't we just have CNNI people back.....
Bouldan seems to have regained the 11.00 hour back from King but it remains to be branded as Newsroom. King's hour has for now remained branded as Newsroom but one can expect that it will be branded back into Inside Politics.
I thought Tapper's the Lead would be two hours starting at 20.00 GMT (15.00 ET) but it seems like Baldwin has gotten her bloc back permanently.
With Zucker on the way out, I can sense that his successor will want to carve more distance between Domestic and CNNI with the latter getting more of a London-centric feel the way the former has a NY/DC-centric aesthetic.

Pre-pandemic, Keilar was 1 hour (13-14 ET) and Baldwin was 2 (14-16). I suspect that for now, the plan seems to be to return to this afternoon arrangement as we can see a bit of it as mentioned earlier. But yes, there has been fluidity in the schedule. Imagine that for some times during the pandemic, Cooper hosted up to two hours of the afternon bloc.
