Anyone have a list of channels that closed/launched in France in 2020 and what channels are due to launch?


The most high profile closure in 2020 was the PSB France Ô channel which provided programming from the French overseas departments. France 4 was also supposed to close last summer but has been given a reprieve until this summer because it provides a PSB educational service during the Covid lockdown.

As for launches, Sport En France which is similar to Freesports in the UK launched, along with relaunches for two local channels in NE France as BFM Grand Littoral and BFM Lille, Top Santé TV also launched, while Canal+ launched Olympia TV, a part-time channel that showcases shows from the famous Olympia hall in Paris which is also owned by Vivendi.

Arnaud Moreau is moving from Franceinfo to France 3.

Tomorrow sees two new presenters presenting lunchtime bulletins on TF1 and France 2.

Marie-Sophie Lacarrau is on TF1 and Julian Bugier is on France 2.

TF1 are still using their festive idents, presumably until the new idents launch later this week.

So TF1's current glossy logo is staying, but the whole channel has a shiny, more premium, new look!
Here's a preview of a movie promo with the new look, designed by Naked (the agency behind the 2013 rebrand)

Also featuring a cool new "hybrid" breakbumper featuring a promo

New promo style:




Gone are the quirky CGI breakbumpers, now we have these ones featuring real places.

I am so pleased to see that the TF1 logo is unchanged! That was the most important thing to me! Other than that I watched these videos, and I really have to say that this new look is very nice! It gives more space to the visuals, and I have to say, I never really liked the CGI break bumpers that TF1 has been using since 2013, these new ones use actual places, for a change!
