Has the original Mary Poppins been shown on the BBC this Christmas? If it hadn’t this must be the first time that’s happened as it’s usually a Christmas and Easter staple.

Nope, it hasn't been on BBC One this year. Its last appearance during the festive season was Christmas Eve 2018.
Could Returns possibly be held back until New Years Eve? I still think Boxing Day is most likely, but it wouldn't surprise me if the original is aired at some point between 27th-30th, as a leadup for the premiere on NYE. (I'd say NYD22, but with it being a Saturday, I'd be expecting a full football programme, and therefore Final Score dominating late afternoon.)
Just going back to Frozen II potentially being on Christmas Day 2022 after the Queens Speech, I'm guessing we'll see Toy Story 4 premiere that year as well. Are we likely to see it premiere in at 1:20 on Christmas Day, or will it be on a different day?
I wonder if Channel 4 will premiere The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run in the near future (during Christmas or not)? Since the first movie aired last Sunday and the second movie is on tomorrow (even though they have aired outside the Christmas period).
Perhaps it's worth mentioning tonight - BBC One will be live over midnight for *something* tonight, though they've been cagey about what.
On a completely unrelated note, the Thames around the Greenwich Peninsula and the airspace above are both closed tonight due to the flying of several hundred drones.
BBC [One] Scotland and BBC Alba are both doing their own thing again - I guess Susan Calman and bands will be prerecorded again; not sure about Alba's ceilidh but presumably it'll be the bands but no audience.

There was also some sort of light show at Tower Bridge last night, not sure if it's happening tonight as well.
There's some big YouTube event tonight that is happening in London and a few other cities worldwide so that could well involve one of these light shows.
